On the ramps at work, Kaaz 2-Way LSD is going in. {} Other Jobs to sort are clicking driveshafts and general check over. Alignment to sort out at some point before Pod
These wheels are growing on me haha. I'm not sure how much research you have done, but clicky shafts can be sorted by putting some grease inside the hub/half shaft spindle. The noise comes from a dry joint apparently.
They do, although the colour is a heap load better in person lol I have read this, shafts are coming out once the diff is sorted. One other thing i need to sort is the Revs, they seem to be slow to drop. is yours the same? not sure if its normal on these or not.
Not that I've noticed. seems normal when I drive it. That diff looks the dogs! You should come to Birmingham Wheels if you are after a local drift day.
I did used to drift there every so often with the Flatout Factory guys, but i'm going to be using 3 Sisters as my new Track. Super easy to get to and seems like a good day there. only up the M6, easy as to get too.
What trick did you use to disable the driving assist stuff? Like the stability control and stuff for burnouts and skidding? I've seen various things like pull pin 101, cut one of the fuses, unplug the grey connector at the abs pump. So I figured I'd ask someone who is actually using a 350z for drifting like I'm trying to do.
My car does not have VDC so I just remove the ABS plug. If you remove pin 101 you dont have any brake lights. Have a look at this for VDC/Brake disable mod https://www.350z-uk.com/topic/12406...ass-burnout-mod/?tab=comments#comment-1814836
Santa Pod closing in and i find myself needing a new clutch. Cheeky burnout the other week fried what was left of the Clutch. So, back on the ramps we go for a Comp Clutch and Braided Clutch line. {} {} {} Just as well it died now, rather than at Pod i guess...
Making space, well, trying too..! Rear speaker framework and trim is coming out. Absolute mission, cutting and drilling spot welds; {} {} Making space for spare drift wheels and also a cage. Should be worth it in the end i'm sure...
Finally out, {} Goof few KG's right there. Plus loads more room for activities! {} Just some cleaning up to do and couple of little bits left to cut/drill out and we good.
Wheel alignment on Saturday over at A-Line. {} Car was all square, unfortunately couldn't dial the Camber out of the rear end as the bolts were seized. Need to get a load of new bolts and some adjustable arms too. But will sort that another day. Santa-Pod next week, buzzing.
Looks great. These things seem to hang really well, the americans love them for missiles. did you bin the Bose sub? I'm looking something small to shove in my daily.
Yea, i have seen a few US guys nailing them. Seem to go pretty well. Everything i stripped out has been binned i'm afraid!
Santa Pod on Wednesday was awesome. Taking the opportunity to learn the car and getting back to basics, seeing as I have only ever drifted on an oval track. The Car was solid all day, apart from the Clutch Pedal, which seemed to only want to come up about half way when hot... Still, it didn't stop me, clutch kicked through it lol Morning was spent in the play pen, doughnuts and figure of eights on the agenda. Afternoon, we had a few goes in the Kidney Track, which took a few pointers and goes to get right. Managed a few consistent laps, which was really rewarding {} {} {} {} {} {} {} {} Nailing the Figure of eight lol Really looking forward to next time. Sort the Clutch issues out, morning in the Kidney and hopefully hanging on the big track later in the day
