Mate of mine has bought an E46 Touring. We welded the diff fitted Coilovers etc but when skidding the car jumps into limp mode and limits revs at 5150rpm, no Engine light or anything. Anyone else had this problem? Even with traction fully disabled (long press)

Tried disconnecting one of the rear wheel speed sensors?

Yeah we done that. Put it into limp mode and killed the speedo. Plugged it back in and speedo turned into a rev gauge lol

Lol! I did find some stuff about fuse 61 but that seems to be M3s - might be worth a try?

    Had this on my 318, 330 and M3 :D.
Remove front left wheel, unplug the blue wheel speed sensor, cable tie it to the strut so it doesnt hit stuff.
Should have disabled TC and ABS but speedo will still work and will rev to red line .

No matter what fuses you pull, from my experience you will always have either no speedo, a hard rev cut, or full limp mode.
Wheel speed sensor is the only thing I have found that works consistently.

Will give It a go cheers boys!

Got another touring with similar problem. He hasn’t got a Rev limit but it’s really boggy when skidding. Straight line will spin for days but as soon as your sideways it just bogs down and dies has no power, is this sensor related or something else? E46 seem a pain in the arse!

That sounds fuel related to me tbh, another issue I have had with my 540 is fuel cutting on corners. Simple fix in my experience is keep it filled up as much as possible...
