Hey. My car get white exhaust smoke that smells coolant on startup on warm engine, doesnt happen when its cold. Smokes for 10 sec then its fine. Cant fint any coolant in the oil, or oil in coolant. Also had the car running without the radiator cap on but no bubbles. It also stutters on acceleration. Any tips to what it could be? Plugs look good to and compression is also good. Have ordered new headgasket.

You'd notice coolant loss if it's kicking out so much white smoke.

So maybe it's turbo seals leaking?

Yeah but that wouldn make it missfire right? And turbo is a bran new garret gt2871r, have been used on dyno and 2 days on street

No, not usually. but if the HG is leaking bad enough to cause a misfire you'd see alot of coolant use and very clear results on compression test.

Have you checked it's got the correct oil restrictor installed, they'll smoke like hell if not.

Havet checked that no, but can say that the smoke doesnt smell like anything but exhaust, and the coolant smell just comes for a sec at startup but cant be smelled at the rear of the exhaust so i dont know. And oil levels are stable, but while driving at full throttle it also misfires.. could it be lower intake gasket? This is the notchtop sr that has coolant passages under the intake so atm im leaning more towards that

Pull the plugs and look to see if number 1 is noticeably cleaner, that should tell you if the inlet gasket is leaking.

Or get a pressure test kit on the radiator and see if it holds pressure

Cyl 1 and 2 looks real good, 2 rear ones had a bit oil on thereads, also had the valvecover off and found a tiny puddle of coolant ontop of the plug gasket

Could it be as simple as valvecover gasket it bad and leaking oil on plugs, and coolant smell is leaking seal on turbo coolant line? Seems to good to be true :)

    White smoke says no.
If the front two plugs are super clean it's either really rich or sucking water from the inlet. Although that should only effect cylinder 1.
Buy a pressure test kit and see if the cooling system holds pressure
You can also buy ultraviolet dye for coolant and a UV torch. Proper gamechanger for leak finding

Isn’t this engine that got hydro locked in another thread?? I’m still sticking with bent conrod anyways

Did you measure the height of all the pistons at TDC.
I only came back to that conclusion because in my experience that would be the most likely reason. Hopefully it gets sorted for you anyway.

That was the first thing i did after the hydrolock :) And also the cylinders looks mint af, and have had the var tuned recently so engine is good, but could be that the head has lifted as the engine is completly stock, and hit 1.8 bar of boost on the dyno due to boost spike

    Does it have stock pistons?
They'll not really like 1.8bar even for a second, but your probably right about head lift.
Was it clamped using arp studs or stock bolts?

Everything internally is stock, but will put in arp bolts and a new tomei mls gasket and cross my fingers. Can take some pictures of cylinders and pistons, all look mint, i couldnt belive how good it was when i removed the head
