Ma61 celica supra build (jdm retro pub landlord beast)
    DSC_4897.

Always had a soft spot for ma61 celica supras, same age as corollas and many other cool toyotas.
dunno if its the digital dash, or the funky seats, or the iron cross wheels, or a twincam 6 pot that revs to nearly 7 grand and sounds the nuts as standard:smokin: but after spending nigh on £3000 on my s13 and having to upgrade bloody everything on it, only to find another weak link in the nissan chain i got pissed one night, went on ebay and started bidding on this

    won the bid at £190:smokin:

    p type,5 speed manual, 95,000 miles, lsd, 2.8 5mge.
plans are to make it my daily driver/ drift puppy as despite it needs a bit of welding in places, my mate has exactly the same car, bar his has a 7mgte from the mk 3 fitted with the r154 gearbox, so i know these cars can take some serious shit thrown at them, he's running 12psi and its never missed a beat:nod:
    phonepics160.
even standard engine is a good peice of kit, so gunna concentrate mainly on the suspension for now. Thinking kyb agx shocks, whiteline anti roll bars and maybe a coilover setup on the front, with cusco adjustable top plates
This place in the u.s have a lot of stuff
    https://935motorsports.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=1334

Some of these badboys in bronze (may need spacering:rolleyes:)

    med_grid_drift_bronze_4.

And will be making a trd ae86 copy spoiler fit on the back :smash:

wish it was as tidy in the flesh as in that pic, few spots on the roof, rear sills are a bit s13eeny,
ie, rotton on outer but other than the first look over its not too bad:thumbs:
interior is mint, totally standard and must be worth it for the wheels alone?
bought initially for spares for the turbo ma61,
but might as well put it back on the road eh!

been looking for some inspiration on tinternet

something similar with the front end
    ae86.

want to do this colour combo on it, as needs a lick of paint after welding anyway
    AE86MP6.

or the danstoy.net one below, love the arches and spoler on this one, so if anyones good with photoshop i'll be well happy if you can make one look a bit like this:worthy:

There was also a white one in Reading with a V8 in it, was on ebay a few times, and its very nice!
Anyway, took your time getting the thread up sir, but its looking good, and reminds me (again) that I want one. Mebbe I'll have yours next year! (yeah right!)

Good luck with it, and I'll let you know once I have a job, because I'll have money and we can go out for a pint or something then!

    what do you think??

    black top/gunmetal grey bottom?
    OR gunmetal grey top/black bottom?

gunna shorten the rear bumper a bit too as think it sticks out too much:smash:
wonder if a bmw e36 rear bumper would work for some reason:rolleyes:

    Best car EVER.

MA61 got me into drifting, in about 1999, and was the reason I bought an 86 a couple of years later.

Oh right, thought you already had it when I spoke to you before!

Looks fairly clean from here, but obviously the pics dont show that much really. Arches look okay, hows the tailgate? And spare wheel well?

Black bottom, gun metal top. Got a rear photo of it? Its just a standard rear bumper on it isn't it? I'm not sure I would bother, there's been 1 or 2 nice kits for these, might be worth just removing the bumper and fitting something smaller if poss instead of cutting the plastic. Or just removing and smoothing?

Narrowed my options down for next year: Celica Supra, mk4 Supra, or Mk2 RX7! We'll see.

You can still get odds and sods at dealers, but best bet is ebay for spares,
I used to buy whole rusty cars for spares :wack:

looks like you've found 935motorsports, rabid chimp is good too.
Guessing you have seen celicasupra.com, its a bit owners-club-cliquey and full of yanks but they are usually pretty freindly and have lots of info on there.

You can get coilovers from 935, and an IS200 TRD 2-way diff can be made to fit (although TRD did make diffs for them back in the day when they rallied them for a short time) The standard slip diff is plate type and if you get a good one it will serve you well enough anyways. The standard diff can be fairly easily modified by a diff specialist to be more agressive.

5-stud conversions are posible but a ballache, 6M/7M engine conversions are a popular one for ease of fitment, but there have been plenty of 2JZ-GE/GTE, 1UZ-FE, Chevy/Ford V8 and many many others, the engine bay can take most things.

Adjustable suspension parts on the rear can be a bit of a whore owing to its trailing arm design (a-la E30/Sierra/Carlton), but I may be looking into something for this in the near future.
