What are the main differnces (mk4 supra) engine wise. thinking about hanging a turbo of a NA 2JZ, what is the compression differences? Oil squirters ? comperssion ratio? same head layout, i.e manifold will offer up ect. any info would be interesting clarkey.
Oil squirters? Yes on the turbo, no on the N/A. Compression ratio? N/A is higher (pistons) Same head layout? No. TT manifolds don't fit an N/A head. CLUB NA-T MkIV Supra forum - Budget NA-T (there are a few NA-Ts on mkivsupra.net)
Lots of people do NA-T conversions, you can get a single turbo manifold to suit off the shelf. Supra owners club is your friend. And being a toyota engine and not nissan, it doesn't shit itsself all over the floor.
Fkuc the turbos off! NA 2JZ on decent ITBs with some mad cams and light bottom end. Oh ooooh scrap petrol aswell and double the injectors up to use methanol! That would be well proper.
When my N/A comes out in favour of something with 2 banks of cylinders its going into a MK2 supra, A mate of mine is having it along with the spare RB26 throttle plates I have.
there's an off the shelf all in kit you can get from america with itb's, management cams etc that gives you 320bhp from the n/A.
fuck yeah! that's what i want in me chaser! more details please ha ha @ Topi on the frickin money boooooooooieeeeee N/A for me please.. i got no time to wait for turbos
No point having a massive inline 6 up front unless its pushing hte power I know the N/a pistons are different what is the CR tho, thats my question. I want to grab 500bhp out of it so i will see how things go. Looking at GT35R.
the general consensus is that whacking a turbo'd one in is cheaper and less hassle than turboing a non-turbo if you get me. the n/a tuning lark comes mainly from n/a only race series.
don't like superchargers.... don't like the noise they make unless they have turbo also. But i really dislike them, i much prefer a turbocharger.
