Sometimes after fitting drifty tyres to rims the tyre beads do not sit up against the rim so the air escapes. Jumping on them/kicking them sometimes helps to seal the gap but I now have about 4 tyres that won't inflate. What am I doing wrong?
I tried that but without any joy. maybe I'll try more but I've never seen the tyre guys at the pod doing that so there must be a method.
7J standard Supra Sawblades. Compressor is 3hp 50L so not that small. I've tried taking the valve out to get more air in quickly but that didnt help either
if you use a hammer and the tyre lever and hammer one side of the tyre on to the bead. then tun the wheel over and lay it flat, while inflating push the tyre down so it will form a seal then it will inflate.
Are you soaping the tyres? Also make sure the bead seating surface on the tyres is OK, they seal not only on the side but on the inner face of the circle as well if you know what I mean, and its easy to shred the bit that seats depending on your fitting method.
Can't afford a Bead blaster atm. The tyre beads aren't damaged and I'm soaping them good and proper. I'm going to Norfolk in a couple of weeks so I'll go and watch the guys there, see how it's done
i bet if you look at the bead on the wheel where the tire has to pop over to seat properly, then there will be machined half circles around it. had this prob on my sawblades, they are a cunt to get tires on
you mean my old sawblades What are the half circles for? Do I need to get the bead on over them first?
lol i think i now own half of mkiiisupra.net's sawblades!! NO idea what the half moons are for, half the saw baldes i own have them half don't. if yours have them i recommend ALOT of tire soap, remove the valve insert and lean the tire on a wall and stamp on the rim whilst inflating.
