Nice first post !! Tips: Go on an american website and ask - as we dont know here in the UK where your jobs are Theres loads of really talented drivers who never get the big breaks due to funding - its just what happens Unlucky about losing your car and you rjob, but shit happens and using that as justification as to why you should be gifted a paid drift drive just doesnt wash. Best of luck. J.
GmasterT came 3rd in one of the JDM Allstar events last year and finished 6th overall IIRC with a fairly uncompetetive car, and he is currently struggling to get even a daily driver working at the moment mcblunt. You have somewhere between very little and no chance
i know im just askin for advice.. n i didnt realize this was a uk site..lol..i know how hard it is ive been trying for along time to get in some events.. common i dont wanna hear no chance..lol.. im not sayin i wanna become pro..thats un realistic...n im not expectin nothin to be handed to me...ive always worked for what ive owned..but when u live a country that feels like they have help everyone else..when all its doin is putin us more n more in debt..which throughs the economy to shit.. n makes it harder for ppl like me to get a job..lol.. all im askin is advice on how to get back on wheels n popin clutches in real drift events...
drifting costs me nothing!!! and im slowly going back to when i started as its more fun!!! i want drifting to cost me money as its more real!!! sponsors are awesome, i am very very very lucky to have mine but u cant start drifting with the attention of just getting sponsors and braggin about it!!! pay ur way, learn the game have fun!! good things come to those who wait and DESERVE IT!!! there are many drivers in the world and UK who have blagged their sponsors on lies and broken promises and suk at driving!!!! sorry had to add that bit lol
Yes. You can get a job in an autosports shop at every autosports shop. You just have to find one with a vacancy, be qualified for the job and be lucky enough to be the best person they interview. Simple. Not easy, but simple.
thank for the advice..@dan...im not tryin to brag im just sayin im not an am... after i get another car up n runnin whats my best bet for sponsors n whats the best way to go about it..
email garages that run drift cars!!! collect pics and vid of urself drifting to make a small showcase of ur skill look into maybe gettng to drive someones car to prove u can slid good!! other than that, build a car to bare minimum spec, g rock it hard, and wait for people to offer u stuff!!! worked for me, and taught me the most!!! focus on fun and going mental, like i said, good things that come to those wh wait and deserve it yyyoooooooo
The best way to get sponsors is to tell them what is in it for them, show them whats in it for them, make sponsoring you seem like good value and valid return on their investment, then deliver more than you promised them. Never promise results unless you will deliver them. This has been covered in deapth elsewhere on the forum - give the search button another prod.
come to germany its easy to become pro over here. in 2009 48 of 49 drivers got their pro licence if you can go around a marked course without killing someone you neraly made it, if the car goes sideways on some point your a pro lol same here. Pro drifting is cool, but as soon as it becomes "pro-discussing" it gets kinda gay.
