Time for an update on this car as just dont where the time goes as it's had some serious hours put into it, here is the subframe finished before power coating with its front lower floor brace fitted with alloy bushes. Here is now in Baggsy favorite colour AKA Subaru STi Pink
Great car.....great subframe....everything in this car is AMAZING! you're a great car builders!!!!! I really love your car! A big ciao from Italy ARian
Subframe fully fitted and all working - had it out testing at the weekend and very happy with how it's turned out.
Cant wait to see this car again whatt gearbox is this running is it a standard r154 or is it a dog box
Had the other car out the other night for some midnight teasting and all looking good for the weekend YouTube - Midnight drifting 1JZ Subaru
With us dropping the engine lower in to the Subaru we had to lower the steering rack and modify the subframe. This caused massive problems with the steering arms as where they fit onto the factory hubs they were now sitting 4" higher than the rack. We toyed with the idea of getting custom hubs made and after a lot of soul searching we tried S14 hubs!! Obviously the rack is at the back on the S14 and the front on a Subaru ;( so we swapped them over and used the opposites This is the orginal set up on the Subaru with wishbone So we removed the wishbone setup and replaced it with all Nissan items, S14 front lower arms and S13 Tension rods
that video is ace and reminds me of Nicad7's old 1jz in his JZX81 MarkII when he took me for a spin on the airfield on our old camp. keep it up and good luck at round one
Awsome work on the car, really well done. Have the rules changed this year with regards to subframes and tubework?I didnt think we were allowed to modify the stock items nevermind design a whole new one.
Ciao Sorry for the late in my answer (and sorry for my english too ) Again congratulations for your subby..it is amazing! I live near Ravenna...near adriatic seaside...do you know it? Ciao and have a good day Arian
Well what a story its bin for the Subaru and the team over the last few month, but for the first time in a long time i have come home from a BDC event with a big big smile on my face because of our Subaru is at last working amazingly, with all the ways we have tried on the back end of the car we have finally found the best set up GTR back end using Subaru hubs but with GTR bearings it was a hell of alot of work for the team and took alot of late nite but was worth it, I got a 4th in BDC knockhill just beaten to 3ed by my team mate, but got the hard charger for the day, Car felt really good and had alot of grip, now we can taun back to the front end to try and set the car up better and get even more lock out the car and start to realy push the car now, we still have to go back to Greg at Pro tuner as there is still more to come from the engine yet as even run out of time on the rollers just before round 1. Would like to say a big thank you to the Japspeed team for all there hard work and never giving up!! Maxxis Tyres for all there support, and every one in the BDC for all there kind words over the weekend!!! :-)
