also is there any area's in oz where it is cheaper to buy cars i am guessin not sydney??

you wont be able to buy any car for a grand in australia mate. cars are expensive there roughly 2-3x as much as you'd pay in the uk.
and forget about sliding in sydney, the drift scene is dead.

Probably a VL commodore would be a good bet, finding a cheap manual one could prove difficult. an r31 skyline could probably found for that price, but as webberchoked said cars a more expensive here. the cheapest mx5 ive ever seen was 2 grand and that had a fucked head. just keep looking and something that you think is suitable will turn up. The rural areas tend to have cheaper cars. oh and also as webberchoked said the sydney/NSW scene is pretty much dead.

I'm in Melbourne picked up a standard 4l v6 commodore for $3000 but needs welded diff and lows but plenty of power to skid it, cars here are expensive like real expensive a e36 m3 are $17000 for example and you won't get much change from $50000 for a e46 m3, for 180sx you are looking at $7000 plus, there's loads of old corollas but even those are $3000 +, the police close motorways and main roads and check every car for mods, drink driving and do saliva tests too there hot as fuck, and if you get caught hooning ie just a little slid they confiscate your car for 30 days. Laws change fro
State to state though, goldcoast has most relaxed laws

    THIS x120492473806

NSW is worse than VIC in terms of traffic laws which probably makes it the worst place in the world to be a car enthusiast.

Get caught "hooning" which doesnt even have to be skidding, you could be speeding with another car a few times and they will take your car and destroy it.

Forget about modifying your car with a loud exhaust, bov, guages, bodykit or anything besides stock as you will be targeted hard!

Basically, I tell anyone who will listen to forget about playing with cars in NSW because its a retarded joke.

If you want unlimited drifty play time with little trouble from the cops South Africa is the place to play.

if the primary reason you want to be in australia is cars then stay in the uk definitely.
if you want better weather and beaches then australia it is.
