22miles a day in a k10 micra with bike carbs and a lairy cam. Pain in the ass to drive till its warm, and then only idles at 500 rpm :| Pretty shit on fuel too as the power band is 4000 - 8000 rpm. Its worse than a n/a diesel escort van when off power.
Lol really. So a petrol car sitting for 3 hours stationary gets 0 mpg and a diesel sitting stationary for 3 hours gets 0 mpg.
And a rotary doesn't like short distances. You'll have a rebuild coming up soon if you don't warm the engine up good and hot. My FD3S used to be my daily (I have a daily commute of 45 miles), but with petrol prices going through the roof (600 euros a month for fuel alone), I recently bought a little red Subaru. A tin of grey primer, some sandpaper, masking tape and paint roller, and a few hours later it looked a bit different. When I just bought it: And now:
3 miles to the work shop in the fagwagon (eunos) and i get to be a tit on the back roads only had a couple of field trip when ambitions and capabilities go mixed up.Much Much cheaper than the skyline line just not as much fun.
But they are both running yes? So they are both using fuel yes? Therefore the diesel is using LESS fuel sitting still than the petrol. Im no rocket scientist but that seems to make perfect sense? Im not stating MPG im saying your going to use LESS fuel in the diesel. Besides I had to take my skyline to work this morning to make up for this gay thread!
mk2 fiesta xr2 running a silly engine spec and getting anywhere between 8-18mpg dependent on spirited driving or not. i do 12-15 miles a day to work
