I have the right car (S13) and I'm already to go.

Teeside is not far from me, who do cheap drift days often and Tockwith is even closer, who have a skidpan (however it's £100/hour!!).

I'm really after a skidpan, or open area, just to get used to handling a drift. I don't feel I have the confidence to go out on a track and actually be able to do it around corners - I mean, I have no idea how to even initiate a drift, I'm starting from nothing.

I don't mind traveling or paying for a whole day just to practice with the above in mind, has anyone got any suggestions? Where do I start?

    Thanks,
    Nick.

Crail days in Scotland organised by the SXOC can be pretty awesome.

Santa pod or Sliverstone day in the other event section of this forum are your best options

As above. DWYB at Santa Pod is perfect even for a complete begginer.

I also have yet to attend my first event. RWYB at the Pod seems to be the best bet, i've been to spectate a few times now and personally can't wait to start! I think its even on this sunday if you wanted to go and see it first

just make sure you go to DWYB rather than RWYB. Otherwise you'll be watching a lot of cars going straight and crashing into walls.. oh hold on.
