Decided that the old bumper just wasn't doing the car any favours so purchased a final konnexion front bumper for it instead also replaced the cracked plastic overflow with a stylish alunimium one from circuit sports the moved the powersteering res to the radiator support as it was getting cooked by the high mounted turbo with new braided lines
Nice conversion! BUT, one thing I noticed, the way you mounted the oilcooler is wrong. You can either turn it 90 deg with the return pipe at the bottom or 180deg. If you leave it like this it will collect air starting from the top rows, in the mean time only the 3-4 bottom rows get a decent flow with cooling effect. So that´s gonna ruin the point of having a oilcooler
really like that front end with the new front bumper, and thats exactly what ive wanted to do with my pas resovoir for ages, off i go to do mine tomorrow lol
Never thought of that, if it becomes a problem I'll change it . Just need my front guards done in steel then its off for paint followed by a tune and low volume cert. Been along time in the build but the end is in sight now
Rolled the rear guards and dialed some camber out of it, still needs a proper alignment as it was just done in the shed with a piece of string a ruler and a large square. Took it out of the shed to check the speedo was working so decided to fire off a couple of quick shots. speedo now works properly so thats another thing crossed off the list Still need to change the wing mirrors over to a matched set that work properly, have my steel front guards made, get DKM to do some sweet twin tips on the rear, get it tuned and certed, then all finished off in a few coats of ford sonic blue. And get the dash flocked and tidy
In the process of pricing up paint at the moment. Trust me to choose a colour with numerous pearls and metallics, going to have to call in some favours to get a better price.
Finally found someone to fabricate up my steel guards so I dont have to use the ill fitting shitty fibreglass ones. First step was to cut out the s13 indicator mounts and replace them with the s15 indicator mounts The next step was to trim the s15 guard Mount the s13 part and check pannel gaps the s15 guard was then mounted and overlayed over the s13 guard, and the s13 guard marked for trimming they were then welded up with a slight overlap to mininise distortion Quite happy with how they came out, not bad for about 3/4s of a days work
well done there man! i thought about doing a similar guard mod with the S13-14a guards. You made it look pretty simple, maybe if i destroy my kit i'll give it a go.
getting everything ready for its tune at the end of the week picked up a Z32 AFM with a broken mount made up an ali adaptor plate a bit of silicone and knead it later its all fixed and good to go Brought a new plug from petroject and wired it in so I now have dual AFM plugs so I can drive with the sr20det AFM then switch over to the Z32 AFM for the tune. Will just need to steal the filter off of the R33 for the day and a sneak peak at the new exhaust system thanks to Keg @ DKM fabrication
