Is it worth going with non servo brakes? I know it will require more effort etc but is it worth it? Anyone doing non servo brake kits for s13?
Hi I have run a couple of non servo track cars, mainly due to brake upgrades and saving wieght plus increase pedal feel. Not some thing I would run on a road car again as the servo helps when you get cut up, also not sure of teh advantage on a drfit car for £ involved.
Cheers for that Yeah its purely for the track anyway and its just now is as good a time to fit that kind of setup to the car when its stripped I understand the whole feel thing as compsared to the servo assisting the pedal Im just wondering does it make the driftig any harder? To be honest I dont want to make the car unatural or difficult to drive
The pedal is generally harder, but an on track you just adjust the braking point to suit Japanese Car Pedal Boxes _ Race Car Pedal Boxes - Optimum Balance Products
Iv heard mixed opinions on OBP pedal boxes so Im not sure yet Id just like to hear from people who caried out the work and are happy or not with the un servoed setup
I've driven 3-4 cars with pedal boxes on the road, inc a 605bhp 1050kg one, and they take some getting used to (as at first compared to a normal car you feel like you have no brakes), but they fine once your mind gets used to the pedal pressure (THEN you end up going thru the windscreen next time you drive a servo car, lol). Unless you NEED to for space reasons, I'd not bother. But if you have to, crack on I say.
I'd steer clear of OBP pedal boxes, I've had bad experience with them and seen how easily they can bend with the pressure of a hand, never mind a foot at any speed!
