Cobra Mustang: Time & Money Here's pics of my Mustang that I bought in August 2004: This was how I got it. Super clean, not a single dent and running like a top.... The very next day after I bought it, we started to play.... Less than 12 hours after delivery we were up at Summit Point, WV for the US Drift/HyperFest event: This is where we were at when the folks at Mustang Enthusiast shot the car for an issue back in 05'. As we added parts, we dressed-up th outside a little bit: Then came Body Update #1: We had a few successes: But you always want more... So we added some more "steam" with a new all aluminum engine: And a nice "little surprise" out back, curt icy of our friends at STS: Then it was time for Body Update #2 thanks to AIT Racing: With the outside done, our attention went inside where we found a better place for the Intercooler: and a few other "odds & ends": So the car has turned into a nice, reliable and competitive car: And at times, can be a lot of fun: What's next for us... know one knows...
Awesome! Truely awesome! - Love how it's transformed to a nice daily sports car into an absolute animal!
Yes, we worked with the guys at STS (Squires Turbo Systems) to build it using their Universal Kit. This is actually ver.3 of the system and over the winter I already have ver.4 already figured out... They are really nice guys and with such a small engine, I'm really glad we went this way as it also helped us with weight-distribution which the car needed desperately....
A pleasure to have a partner with a Mustang Drift, your help I can be critical. Someday I hope that mustang cross like yours, because it really is impressive and his mustang you were the one who encouraged me to make a mustang drift, I have seen many videos of you. a greeting Felix
always loved the sound of your car sounded like a rocket ship havnt seen you in formula d this year what happen? or am i just blind lol
I'm glad I was able to give you some inspiration and I'm sorry to have dragged you and your poor car into this terrible sport that makes you ignore your women and burn-up all of your $$$.... There are a few videos ony web page under "Gallery". Check it out when you get a chance. Please feel free to ask "Mustang" questions. I probably can't answer them all but I have been "down this road" longer than most.... I'm happy to help if I can...
Yeah, this car always has had its own sound to it.... Thanks! Due to a lack in sponsorship $$$, the past 2-seasons we decided to drop back and concentrate on Pro-Am (b-level) level events. Those guys at the FD level are so good and their cars/teams are so amazing that we didn't feel we were helping ourselves by being a "mid-pack" team. I fully intend to return to FD just as soon as I can find some $$$ to do it correctly...
Since no one was willing to give me a "truck load" of money for it, we're doing a bit of updating: The new engine is really exciting. We used the same block, crank and rods (though both of the latter were heavily messaged) but everything else is new. The heads are TrickFlow units that have been ported to the moon by Fox Lake. They'll feature custom-grind Comp cams, Jesel Followers and Adjusters, Custom Ferrea Valves and should be able to pull the crank up to about 8500rpm's. Truthfully, I'll be happy with 7500 but we'll see... And this is just the start... wait till you see the rest...
All aluminum, which gives pleasure to see that Doug. The aluminum block is the hardest of all the 4.6L. Sure you will be great. Even if you have little time keep looking. A greeting

awesome!!! Looks like a very well prepped car, but i still cant believe these still use a live axle!!
That what the GT's came with. The Cobra's on the other hand used an IRS. On our new car, we're going to give that a try and see if we can't learn a thing or two. We've already got a bunch of parts for the rear including control arms, bushings, tie-rods and billet Uprights. Not to mention we've managed to cram a quick change differential in there as well... I'll post some pics once we get it all sorted out..
Install an IRS system is a very good option. Everyone who wants to raise his level rear mounts it. But you have been easy to find? And people are afraid of the solid rear axle, but I've seen and tried with my own eyes that there is much difference Drift, Grip however if there is that much difference. I'll stick around to see how IRS, serve me great help when I need to upgrade. regards
