Haha, you've STILL got that mini? You're as bad as me with cars dude, I've managed to get myself down to just 3, but I'm looking for another!

It'll be finished this year. Promise (have said that 3 years on the trot...)

Did you ever get one? We chatted online briefly when I first picked up the shell and you said you were interested in them - mentioned that VAG HSD's were in the pipeline...

Nope, couldn't afford a good one one at the time so I grew a vagina and got an S3. I'd still like one but I'd have to fit the S3/RS heated recaros.

The VAG HSD development stopped there ha :)

Nope, I picked this up from Northampton at Bahnstorm - the owner however was from Kent. He didn't put the cage in though, someone that goes by the alias of Pascal on AudiSRS??

The shell was originally owned by Forge Motorsport.

Aye Pascal is Mike, its an impressive climbing frame in that car, alot of thought went into it! Mad to think this car is on its way to becoming a drifter, Mike had some mad (expensive) plans for it as a race car.

Yeah, I did some digging when I was buying it and found his project thread. SO much money has been bolted to this car in the past. Unfortunately when I picked it up it was a bare rolling shell with doors, glass (excluding rear screen) and knackered stock suspension on it.

Considering the price I paid for it, it was a good deal.

Just read page 18 properly, great progress on it, If I remember correctly PPC magazine used a saab lump in an escort and went big power, they love it! Your manifold is crazy, lol, Iv done things like that and you wonder how your going to get it right again, lots of mig and lots of grinding!

The Saab engines are great, iv just done a manifold for external gate and T04e onto B234 into an Astra mk3 van for a customer. I know of other people doing 500 ish HP no problems. Build looks great... right up my street making bits yourself.

Is that Astra van white with standard exterior, done by a Cambridge Saab mechanic? If so, it is 100% awesome.

Haha yeah, I cut the manifold up so it was in LOADS of bits and I was just thinking... "Well that was a waste of £100...shit" haha!

I'll be fitting lexan in - will be making the side windows myself. I did this on the S40 track car and they came out really well, Much cheaper too. The only one I'm buying is the rear curved screen - not cheap at £165+post+VAT from plactic4performance.

That's it, yeah. I'm guessing you've seen this video, then?

I love these engines - I've been through five NG900/9-3s and one 9-5. Always loved the thought of a RWD 9-5.
