This is basically an idea Stiggy and a few others were discussing over the winter, and it seems that after starting a facebook page there is a lot of interest for this to go ahead, so with that in mind, here we have it. We intend to run a minimum of 3 rounds possibly 4, this will be confirmed in the next couple of weeks, the main criteria of the challenge is to have fun and with this in mind, we are preparing a set of rules based on keeping everyone safe without it costing a fortune. In line with this we shall be running a maximum 205 width rear tyre. Please see the seperate post for Rules and Regulations. Hopefully we will see a few of you entering with us and having some fun, we have a number of companies supporting this already. From what I understand so far, 1990 or earlier. Or possibly in some special cases cars made after 1990 that were also produced in the same shape pre 90.
Indeed mate. A 1990 1UZ 286cammed Rex on ITBs in fact. It's light and not that powerful, I love older/retro cars, and haven't got a massive budget or sponsors, so this sounds ideal.
Erm, how? They first appeared in 1995, S13s were not long out in 90, but they dont count as the whole point of the series is for older/interesting cars rather than being flooded with S and R bodies and E36s like everything else.
Seen this before on FB and I'm really interested! Let me know if you need any help, as I would like to get involved in organising events again
as bob has said the main aim is to have fun in what can be real cheap(ish) retro tin. the rules n regs are going to be mostly comon sense of which will be posted up this w-end. there are NO s13's and no r32's as there is 3 other series these can be used in and the RDC team dont belive these are in keeping with what we class as retro! the series is not here to compete against bdc, drift allstars or dms. we are here for fun,now if that sounds like your cup t then get involved in the retro revolution! a55 ooh yes see people thinking outside the box!
at last i can use this turd.... =============================================================================== also cefs are eligable::: The Nissan Cefiro is a mid-size car that was produced by the Japanese automobile manufacture Nissan Motors. In rallying and most circuit racing classic or retro is considered pre 85, sort of makes sense as anything approaching 1990 tends to be less rare/ interesting. Will make a great spectators sport for us retro car nuts, cant wait to Huxs latest builds out on track.
