exactly what i was going to say, with the money you could get for it with a ticket on it you could have a much more capable car.

all 325i sports arent worth fortunes there are some minters that are worth the cash but then there are other ones that can be a tidy car but will never a minter unless you throw a blank cheque book at them.

you need to ask your self is it worth doing a full restro job on one and spending more than its worth on it..

if its a genuine 325i sport with low miles and a bit of history then fair play but a high mileage with none or little history is it realy worth it?
there not the modern mans MK2 escort that some would love you to believe.

dont get me wrong there great cars and I do miss owning one but there not the be all and end all

This man is speaking the truth.

Unless it is a solid shell which considering it is from a scrap yard is unlikely, I wouldn't bother restoring it and selling it.

Personally, I would sell he mtec 2 kit and LSD - this will fund a welded diff , a bucket seat , some harder suspension , maybe bushes and a good service.

Sports are getting pretty rare and the value is going up...so my advice is if it's a decent shell then like people say above, sell it on...but if it's not mint you can still make a fair bit of money whilst keeping it, sports come with a few goodies which people will happily pay a fair whack for...the mtech kits, the mtech steering wheel (tech 2 yours would be), obc, the sport mirror with the map lights, lsd, sport leather and black headlining..all of these you won't need in an e30 your going to abuse and would certainly help fund stuff like seats, coilovers or whatever.

As for the zoners, you get a few who may come across as tossers but thats the same with every forum..you cant really argue the passion they have for the e30..I've met some tidy people from there and if you got an e30...it's the place you want to be for advice and so on, no doubt about that.

It's a tough one. The only reason I like it is because of the mtech kit and the goodies so not sure I could go backwards if you get me just to make it better for dori.

This is gonna sound lame but I just love seeing people drifting clean, really nice looking cars. If I had all the money this would be slammed on some nice 15/16" dishy wheels (ideally Workmeisters lol) and be like a 'daily drifter' not just purely a drift machine.

Also think it could be different because as said, typical sport owners wouldn't really dream of drifting them...?!

So far we've found some cancer in one rear arch and one side of the scuttle. sills seem fine etc. Need to have a good look tho and get in behind the kit.

pull the rear cards out have a look in there for rust check the inner arches, front corners of the floor, behind the headlights, under the fuse box, front inner arches where it meets the bulk head, rear qtr pockets under the battery and the under bonnet battery tray. also pull the sound proofing off from under the bonnet this holds water behind it and they also hide rust

theres a lot of good blokes on the zone I wouldn't tar them all with the one brush.
there are a few boys that are that far up there arse aswel though but I would say 90% of them are alright

If it were me I'd never sell the diff spend £100 on it get ramp angles changed and a new pair of plates from driveandtraction.co.uk. and it'll work well enough for any drifting. I'm running the same thing in my e36 and its perfect on road and track. A guy called Gareth on e30 zone has done a couple of sets of ramps for me both sets perfect. It is a real 2 way diff.

id replace the water pump as well as checking (hell just change it) the viscous

be aware the M20B25 likes eating headgaskets, but can also be a biatch to bleed, so check that before you decide its done the hg.

they can and do slide nicely, but can also wash out at the front too easily :(

get the front end up in the air for bleeding the system.

the heads are prone for cracking.
Ive seen a fair few of them crack in my time with them
