Few months!!? STOP BEING A TART!

NOPE. I will ALWAYS maintain, I would of been pissed off spending all that money on a clutch and flywheel (its cost me near on just as much as what the running gear set me back!! :wack::wack:) to find I didnt like the V8.

Plus got 6 months free use out the dual mass and original clutch :smash: Will also now, hopefully feel the benefit of the lighten fly, although im still not keen on the fact I went paddle :euge:

I MIGHT (knowing how lazy I get and just wanna go drifting it possibly wont happen ) pull the whole lump out anyway, its fuck all extra work really and gives me a chance to tidy up some bits + fit my 20mm forwards rack and do away with the DW offset R/Spacers

smallish update of how progress is going.

last week i got cracked on, got fed up with trying to fix the pas leak so went to my local hose shop who made me up a new bit of hose for the pas pipe in question. this meant i could actually drive the bloody car out of the garage!

so i set about the task of getting it road worthy for a quick road test. sorted out some lighting issues, did some other tidying shit, checked the fluid levels over, etc.

so saturday was the day, wanted to go on a brisk run round the block and get some fuel in it. was a bit worried as it was supposed to rain that day and the new v8, brakes i hadnt really tested and lack of wipers didnt exactly fill me with confidence but fuck it i wanted to drive it.

and then came the problems. before even starting the car the throttle cable nipple fucked off leaving me with an issue which i sorted, then got to the end of the road to find im only getting half throttle (annoying), then i find out the brakes seem pretty terrible so i need to re-bleed them one day. further on the windows all steamed the fuck up and the interior fans did fuck all, the pas appeared to chuck its fluid out for some reason, the water temp shot up to 120 C which im guessing is due to air in the system, and a load of warning lights are staying on on the dash which needs investigation. balls.

BUT, it was fucking awesome being out in the car and the exhaust note is very very cool. so im pleased in some aspects.

wanted to get onto it this week but im manualling the 180sx and its not playing ball. still the sil should be done very very soon :)

    bummer man.

Bleeding is a bit of a pig as no nipple- I jack the front up and use a 2 litre bottle upside down.. (raises the highest point in the system) tape around where cap would screw on to seal it and bottom cut off... get it up to temps, switch off, leave for a bit then repeat.

throttle cable. you should check out my new one mate! 10x better then the last but still pikey as fuck. seems its lasted longer then yours already :p ha ha

exhaust note- you wont get bored of!

I know its not necessarily the same, but my PS reservoir kept throwing fluid out. swapped to an S14 cap and it sorted it

So after the poor road test last time ive been sorting a few of the issues and doing some other bits.

I found the half throttle issue, found a shiny patch on the bonnet which turned out to be where the butterfly arm was stopping against it, doh! So a quick trim of the bonnet and ive got full throttle :)

Fitted the modded r34 tension rods to stop the rims from touching on lock.

Had a non start issue which I thought was ews but turned out to be a broken wire

Found a water leak from a hose clip.

So with all that done and the weather nice on sat I decided to take it for a run. And fuck me am I happy, 1st gear is pointless as it spins with the slightest throttle, 2nd is pretty much the same. The car pulls well but I appear to have a nasty wheel wobble somewhere around 50. The noise has got even better than before.

So all in, im happy, a little more fettling and its done :) im going to be taking it to lydden for rd1 on sunday, supporting Chris Hawkins, so if anyone is there come have a look.

And got a pic of it outside
