well finally got the engine out my truck this afternoon, its been in there all week, got everything laid out to see what else I need, pretty much got everything I think.

I want the engine to produce around 280-300bhp

iv done a bit of research where various combinations of gaining this have been going through my mind.

so I decided on the following engine mods:

440cc injectors (if anyone has any for sale let me know)
    spark plugs
    walbro fuel pump
    horsham custom map
    intercooler (which I already have)
maybe an exhaust manifold, undecided on this as I hear they tend to crack and that the cast one is sufficient.
light weight flywheel (anyone know a good brand to go for?)

geabox, six paddle clutch standard fly ecu, looms, keys etc

E30 to SR engine / gearbox mounts (courtesy of slide motorsport)

so got dwyb day booked for the 10th after that, the fun begins

also washed it today after the last drift day

    few pics from 20th dwyb

you dont need the injectors for 280hp sean, all you need is a free flowing exhaust, free flowing air filter, a boost controller (something like an apexi avcr), a h-dev Stage 1a chip for the ECU and thats it, horsham recommend a stainless manifold but i dont really see the need cus the stock SR mani's are supposed to be good for 400 horse, and are better flowing than 80% of manifolds on the market, i swapped my s/s mani back to the stock

ahh?what sort of power are the standard injectors good for then will it do any harm running 440's? incase of future upgrades that may bring it over 300?

iv heard the standard mani's are good so most likely will stick with that.

all feedback welcome as im new to these turbo charged engines :)

haha, the stocks are good to about 300 horse, im not sure what use 444's will do you tbh, horsham recommend using 555's on stage 2 and above, but thats when you need a z32 AFM as well, and stage 3 is t28RS territory.. not mega monies to achieve stage 3 etc...

another thing you need is a walbro 255 fuel pump, the stock s14 fuel pumps are pants, you've probably already got a walbro for the 3.5 though?

    this link should help dude..

had a little tinker in the garage this afternoon,

took rocker cover off just to check everything looks ok, removed oil spra bars to either replace or clean

remove this heavy bit of junk!

took the turbo intake elbow off and found lots of oil! now in not sure if its because the engine may have been on its side or what not? but when you spin the impeller more oil seems to come out, no play in the shaft at all and it all looks good apart from that but im a bit worried about it so it may have to go for a refurb

    what do you recon?

thats what I was thinking really, the last thing I want is for it to be eating all the engine oil....il get it off this week, far too much doubt in my mind to ignore it

id probably whip the t28 off, check where the oils coming from, ie if its in the manifold too, if it is, then it will be because the engines tipped as i doubt the guys at Slide would sell you a nackered engine (im assuming you bought it from them?)

if nothing, id be tempted to spray some WD40 down the shaft cus if theres no play in the spindle then theres no reason for oil to be in the turbo.. its only when the seals start to perish that you get movement in the shaft and therefore it sends oil thru the inlet.. but ive never seen a turbo with that much oil in which is why i dont think its really anything serious.

keep us updated though, keen to find out why

I have no doubt about slide they seem so genuine, probably just me. but good shout i will whip the inlet off, the throttle body is dry and so is the exhaust side, probably will get the turbo checked anyway and prob get a 360degree thrust bearing put in aswell just to be on the safe side as i want it as reliable as poss, cheers dude

    thanks :)

main reason is I want the car to e more agile, less weight at the front,

2nd reason is the engines got a few oil leaks and things that need doing so it needs to come out anyway for a re-build

3rd is because im me and i get bored easily lol
