edit: updated list. I'm looking to diff options for me E46 M3. I figure I could ask some guys across the pond, it seems slightly more common to drift these over there than here in the States. I've been looking around for diff options. I've found lots of old threads, I just want to ask if anyone has a DEFINITE/exact/updated list of what BM cars came with a large, 210 case (with 8 bolts on each side of case, not 6) with 3.91 or even 4.10 gears. I'd like to try to score a cheap diff and swap over the gears. If it's an open diff, weld it and see how I like it compared to my stock M-Variable Diff. This is what I've found, please confirm or correct me: Large 210mm Cases (any gearing) -E24 M6 -E31 850 (auto has 3.64) -E34 M5 before 6/94= 3.91 -E36 Euro (w/3.2l) M3) -E38 730, 740 (V8s), 750 (v12) -E39 535, 540, M5 (all V8) as I said before, I'm not 100% sure on these, it's just info I've gathered from the last couple days, any help is appreciated. Thanks guys!
The only e34 diffs with 3,91 gear ratio are m5 up to 6/94 and 535i automatic with m30 post 9/89. 540 is 2,93.
Thanks and these are all the large 210mm cases right? Mostly everything I find is for the medium 188 case
