Basically I've destroyed 2x bumpers in the last few months and I've just ordered a rocketbunny kit. Is there any certain ways you use so they can be very easily taken off for skids? It's on an S13 btw. I have fiberglass front wings as well and don't think they would hold up with the spring clips on. No big deal, just wondering if there's any handy ways I haven't thought of myself.
One cable tie in the top corners where the bumper meets the wing, and 2 out of the 4 bolts onto the bumper bar :-) easily removed for skid days/maintainence etc and pretty sturdy when driving
I go for 2 cable ties at the wing either side. Gives enough movement for it not to get broken on roads, hit a dead badger not so long ago nigh on lifted the car up on impact but the bumper survived with a few cracks haha.
Haha. Ill upload a couple of pics later when I'm home. At the moment it's 2 bolts either side into L brackets on the bumper bar, 1 cable tie looping through the bumper and the inside of the wing, and one on either side near the wheel. It's just the one on the inside of the wing is an absolute BALLBAG to do without the car being lifted up.. Lol
As I said in the first post I'm scared they would tear a hole in the fiberglass front wings even with a small impact?
I told you about the spring clips mounted behind the bumper and on to the wing... Ya don't need any cable ties or additional screws if ya do that...
Using a combination of DZUS clips / fairing fasteners on my fibreglass front bumper and a cable tie for odd support (could easily do without). After a recent incident I needed to remove my front bumper (I had nothing available with me i.e. no cutters / being in the middle of nowhere) with the DZUS clips was VERY quick & easy to clip off / clip back on again to get me on my way again. I'm using total 4 on the front bumper, 2 on each side. First being where other have described with cable ties (arch area), and another on the front side of the bumper to minimize flex. Cable ties will do the job, but I guess this is a 'neater' solution / no need to carry around any replacements.
Dzus Overcentre Clip And Strike - JJC Race & Rally One on each wheel arch down onto the bumper and then I have the standard nissan push clips in the top edge of the bumper.
Cable ties work for me, I mind doing some streeto ages ago and clipping a kerb too tight and the bumper flew off and landed on the road undamaged as it had just burst the cable ties, dzus fasteners are defo the neater option though
