recess your rad into the slam panel about 1", fit an S14 viscous fan, if you can modify a cowling do it, and run an oil cooler,

sorted all my temp issues right out on my RBs14a

I have a 19 row oil cooler which keeps oil temps nice and low around 80 deg but in winter I have to cover the cooler or it will stay around 50 deg

I had mondeo diesel fans on my s13. They shift a ridiculous amount of air. Biz had the same type on his LS skyline

Yeh I keep reading up that diesel ones seem to be the best and will be a good bit cheaper than aftermarket ones, going to get stuck in tomorrow and see what I can do.

how can removing the stat be worse?surely as the coolant will flow less restricted and cooled more efficient,i run a large core koyo rad, viscous with shroud and undertray and 2 electric fans?ive never had a problem and my running temps are better since i done it,i may be wrong but interested why its worse without a stat?

Your constantly cooling your engine and making it run below its designed operating temp. Oils not geting up to temp and causing wear on engine etc.

If ur on track constantly its probs not a bad thing but for a car that sees the road its bad. Specially in winter

    As above.

And car will run cold map for longer... Until up to temps.

Which on A cold day could never happen!

Fit stat then Fix the problem you have if you are overheating... Don't just cover it up.

How? Keeping it cooler for longer? Or stopping your water getting above 90? Does it go above 90 with a normal stat?

I had an low temp stat and temps could sit at 60/70 on mway. Caining fuel id say. Still didnt stop me overheating at pod when i went first time. So then made some changes and put correct stat in and got much better fans and no issues.

If I go to bleed my system my water circulates straight away,is that a sign that I don't have a thermostat? Ie if I open the bleed screw and start the car water comes out the bleed screw straight away and my radiator goes down,if I had a thermostat wouldn't that stop the radiator going down until it opens up?

Opens the thermostat earlier therefore circulating the water a lot quicker than a standard one and keeping the temp lower earlier and seems to stay constant.
Also going to put in a koyorad

It should stay constant then at the designed operating temp if ur cooling system is up to scratch.
