I don't really want to sell this but on the other hand I fancy a change. Its mot'd until late July, it's not a problem for me to get a new mot as it doesn't want for anything. Brand new tax disc yesterday. Its a blobeye impreza STI, (non turbo on book's) When I spoke to the DVLA they weren't interested in updating the logbook as there both 2L petrol in the same tax bracket. Its currently RWD using the standard running gear but I have the front shafts and centre diff should anyone wish to make it 4wd again, (4 hour job max) Now the car as it stands. 50K miles! When I bought it I rebuilt the engine, it didnt need it. but thats what I do when I get a car I want to keep for a while. (I'm a fully trained mechanic with my own business and warrenty) At the time I fitted a pair of BRAND NEW Spec C JDM cylinder heads with sodium chloride valves and P1 cams. new cometic gaskets, quality cambelt, pump etc. Bottom end was left as it was deemed perfect (should have been at 40k!) Always run on 10w60 Millers finest oil, changed every 7k miles Detumblered inlet Decat uppipe, Decat downpipe downpipe back ninja exhaust Front mount with full solid pipes Alloy Rad Air con removed ABS disabled Japspeed catch can Purple inlet K&N filter Baileys dv samco inlet hose silicone coolant hoses TD04 turbo with no shaft play, set to the standard 19PSI peak Remapped for the above parts. Circa 300BHP (makes mince meat of a stage 3 13) Exedy Clutch welded centre diff removed front shafts (can come with spare box with standard centre diff, front shafts and spare paddle clutch and spare rear diff and rear shafts) BC Coilovers (the more expensive ones) pillowball top mounts on the rear, adjustable pillowball top mounts up front Adjustable lower arms (as standard) OZ super T wheels Drilled and grooved front discs yellowstuff pads P1 Prodrive front seats Turbo timer (not fully wired) Boost guage Momo wheel and gear knob (as standard) OEM Tints in the rear Rear vane roof spoiler I've probably missed loads here! This car hasn't really been drifted yet as I havn't finished it yet so really its just my daily, always off boost before its warm and well cared for. Now for the money: Im up for PX ill consider anything asking as its not a family car or saxo chavmobile Im asking for £4000for the car as it stands. On standard suspension in the pics as I removed the BC's at the weekend to give them a good clean and free up Offers more than welcome
Nice car although I would like to clarify, it doesn't appear to be a blobeye Impreza STi. On the Motor Insurance Database it's listed as a 2001 Impreza GX (which is a bugeye). Bugeye's have the radio aerial on the door pillar like yours. As your car started out as a GX, it can't be an STi either as that is a variant of the WRX which yours is not. To me it looks like someone took a bugeye GX and did a front end blobeye conversion on it and fitted a turbo engine. Car looks great and has some good mods, good luck with the sale. Ian.
Or probably even closer to reality.. Someone crashed a bugeye GX and then repaired it with blobeye parts and a wrx engine :-) Looks nice though.
Thanks for the good comments guys, Yep its a bugeye, thats not a private plate. Its had a blobeye conversion all round (the shell's are exactly the same from the 01 gx right up to the 05 STI import, the blobeye was just a facelift with the introduction of a AVCS etc. you might think that the STI was a lighter shell or had thinner panels etc but it did not) Theres no stupid panel gaps or anything (as the shell's the same), all genuine subaru STI panels in original paint etc
This is correct, i helped with the conversion on this car and everything was done to a high standard, the car drives realy nice and looks awesome in the flesh, worth it for a sorted daily with a good bit of power for the backlanes! glwts dude
Lots of cool cars, still nothing I've fallen in love with though. MOT booked for saturday so she will have a years ticket!
Spend a bit of time starting to shine the coilovers up tonight, they'll be back on soon. Planning on making some spacers at work in the next few weeks to get the arches nice and full when the coilovers go back on
Now featuring a welded diff, Current spares available for negotiation with the car are: Full set of driveshafts, spare open rear diff Spare gearbox (with normal 4wd capable centre diff) Spare 6 puk paddle clutch Spare 6 speed flywheel Spare engine spare inlet few other bits and bobs like lights, cat, back boxes, bumper bars etc Maybe this should be moved to 'drift cars for sale'?
Thinking about selling this again for the right offer, back on the coilovers with a 4:1 purple welded diff. Skids beautifully now. I'll try and get some pics at the weekend once she's had a thorough clean.
