i had exactly the same problem with my 328 mate. the rad kept cool at normal driving but as soon as i put her to work she cooked within minutes. i would suggest changing rad and a decent bleed through as bmw's are prone to be a fucker to bleed through and i think you will be fine.

i removed viscous and replaced an 12'' electric fan and keep it on constant and replaced thermostat and housing. since i did all that the car has been superb mate

had cooling problems on a 328 too, mine was a broken fan blade on the water pump (plastic ey) replaced for a metal one... replaced the termostat and added special higher grade coolant, bleed the system.. never had a problem again....
not the most expensive job.. water pump is arround 40quid and termostat arround 15 (make sure you have the metal housing for it too, some came with plastic)

    I'm not really sure.

It looked like a mint car when it was red and a saloon.

Well in that case go you!

I thought you chopped up the red 36 to make that pick up.

As well as the car drove on Monday I'm still having cooling issues, it got red hot after two laps and just never cooled down. It's got a brand new radiator from the ac version ( dlightly bigger) big aftermarket leccy fan and new coolant with the thermostat removed what else can I do?
