I have to buy uprated coilpacks. I found the splitfire ones and these. They are cheaper than the others and they say its the same quality (proving with some dyno tests and spark pictures). Any experiences?

From what Iv read they are a bit hit 'n' miss... Some are ok, some die quickly..

Iv just upgraded to LS2 Coilpacks on my 1jz and I'm very pleased with them. You'd expect to pay around £40 each for new coils, then around £180 for a set of Magnecor KV85 leads made to length.
You can ditch your original ignition amplifier too when using these, just get the wiring right...

If using standalone ECU (or can tune ECU to run these), just use VAG red coils - cheap and reliable.

"shogun" was using Yellow jackets on his 700+ E85 CA18. Just ask him about them.

I have a Link G4 ECU. The programmer guy suggested buying Superspark coilpacks, they are 450 AU$ shipped, I will probably get those now. Thanks

I wouldn't take the risk with them.. At least by getting something proven like the LSx CoilPacks you know you won't have issue. And if you ever did have issues you can replace just one rather than buying another set. Your call though..
And you mapper probilly suggested those because they are direct fitment and he doesn't need to do any work..

Yup, thats why. He told me he used them for 2JZs, RB25s and CA18s and haven't had any issues. Well I will see which ones to get, I am also on a tight budget right now so price also matters.

Yellow jackets are terrible.. I went through 3 sets in 1000miles on my rb25, spitfires or oem is the only direct for option.. Wouldn't run yellow jackets of they were free..

Like I said earlier - you can use VW/AUDI Beru coils.
They should be around 140-160 pounds/set and easy found all over the world.

Audi/VW coilpacks are rubbish, Iv got a friend who works for VW and changes coilpacks on them all the time, they are a common problem on VW's so they aren't going to be any better on any other engine..

Superspark have bad things written all over the Internet about them too..

SpitFire's have been in the business for years and they are ok:thumbs:

Do someone sell them (maybe others than spitfire aswell) inside the EU? I didnt find any on ebay, only in australia. And its a good thing to have warranty but useless if I have to pay 100 pounds shipping if something goes wrong.
SpitFire will be my choice I think if cant find better type specific coils.

don't think you can find something specific made for sr20 better than SpLitfire, RHDJapan will charge you 350E shipped at your door, tbf its a bit pricey but when it comes to this kind of stuff you don't want to cut corners

There was a problem with VAG coilpacks, but it was sorted.
I worked for them for 2 years and can't ever replacing 1 after they were re-called.

And like mentioned, if you ever do have a problem you just go to a dealer.

Exactly. Allmost all very powerful Lithuanian cars (JZ, SR, CA, VAG engined) are running VAG coils without issues.

Why dont you just buy new OEM coils? Ive ran Supersparks on a few JZ powered cars without issue, and have a set to go in my single turbo Aristo as well.
