One for the speed freaks among us, 30 years ago Richard Noble took the Land Speed Record in Black Rock, America. It has a remained a British-held record since then, being superceded by Thrust SSC in 1997 - the first supersonic car. Now again the team are building the Bloodhound Supersonic Car with the design and intention of breaking the 1000mph barrier. This one tells the story of how Thrust 2 came to life, so titled after Richard, when asked why he was doing it by a journalist, simply responded "For Britain and the hell of it". Enjoy
And that Bloodhound looks crayzee. Was following the build for it a bit! If I remember right it has a Cosworth F1 engine as a hydraulic pump ?? An excellent achievement. Shows we still lead the way in somethings and we always have, and always will, do things for the hell of it
