Hi, I live in the Stroud/Glos/chelt area and I'm looking for someone, a garage, or an experienced amature with experience of E36's and specifically someone who knows how to sort out the torn rear subframe mounts on an E36.

I do not believe the sheet metal surrounds are torn as inspection while everything is on the car shows no cracks or distortion, more like the thread on the passenger front mount has been lunched. This will need confirming and diagnosing fully though.

It's a drift/daily so I'm not looking for a BMW service enginer stamp and it doesn't have to look pretty. Just a solid repair and the knowledge it wont happen again. I have a set of subframe poly bushes to replace the OEM ones that will prob be worn and am considering a set of the reinforcement plates available.

I can drive the car to someones place or I have a large covered carport available here. I also have cash waiting.

Any recommendations of places or people you have used before and trust would be appreciated. I have been given the name of Huxley Motorsport in malvern but would ideally like to find someone much more local than that.

Thanks for any leads or advice.

There is a place in Worcester which i would recommend called Torque Motors. I was there last week as one of the bolts holding the trailing arm to the chassis snapped off in the chassis. They had to cut out the captive nut and weld a new one in for me, but they did it quick and cheap.

Lansdown road motors in stroud are good that's Liam and Ray or mike I think his company is mtr repairs, mobile but awesome and fast so he could come to you. Failing that xavi at the service centre on Bristol road is great.

Amazing. All those are within 5 miles. Exactly what I was after, cheers bud.

Do you have any further contact for Mike at MTR please? A mobile guy would be best as I can do all the removal of suspension etc myself. Its just the actual fix that I'll have a problem with.

Cheers guys. PM set to luckyluke13. I'm going under the car again tomorrow and going to attack everything with a prybar. I just cant seem to find anything loose or looking broken untill I mash my foot into the carpet, then all hell breaks loose and the rear of the car feels like its smashing itself against the chassis.. This is what leads me to believe the thread is lunched on the Unimount or, against all hope, that the mounting bolt has snapped. Whats the chances thats all it is.

Some really positive replies here. Thanks to the forum.

Look at front prop coupling rubber (known as the donut), the centre prop bearing mount and the front diff mounting rubber bush / bolt that holds it in.
All common reasons for banging underneath when failing.
