Hi guys, im in having a issue that I'm getting fuel spraying out of my bov !!! any ideas why ? thanks
Nice guess... I will look into it I also need to see if throttle body is sealing when closed and also check if and injector is stuck full open !! They are my guess's !! Correct me if wrong before I strip apart at weekend
If your bov was spitting fuel I doubt your car would run due to over fuelling. Going to be oil vapour.
luckily i noticed it after initialling the engine and not driving it yet... but yeah its a concern... i was thinking about putting a screamer style pipe off it and having out of the wing with an igniter lol
how the hell does fuel manage to get to your BOV ? The injectors are after the BOV and the unburnt fuel would go down the exhaust, fuel would naturally never get introduced to the inlet so something is majorly wrong
When a fuel pressure regulator is internally leaking it's quite easy to get it into the inlet manifold, it's pumping with a healthy +- 3 bars? Still, don't see how it could 'easily' spray out of the BOV even if it's leaking like that... plus, it wouldn't really run, well it might, but would be super rough and not driveable really
The BOV is about 8 inches from the TB... The car idles and runs fine... haven't driven it yet as brakes and prop are not yet fitted... no idea on fuel pressure as using stock FPR...
Really doubt it's fuel then tbh mate... what kind of amount of spray are you getting? is the engine using a lot of oil?
its clear and smells of fuel and a lot comes out... I'm 100% sure its not oil as its black and smells of oil... !!! its also clean fuel as it sprayed all over my hand and i wasn't left with a oily residue...
Hello Magicflying198 Have you try'd taking off the vac pipe to the bov to see if there is any coming out from there? wot is the car ideling at? was the engine warmed up before it started to happen or did it do it from getgo?
It was worse when cold and it's idling a bit fast which I think was due to being on choke and I had to adjust the TPS but still happened when it warmed up !!! I removed the vac line and the engine hesitated but when I blipped the throttle the bov wouldn't open with no vac line as there is not drop in pressure on the inlet side... I'm stumped
