Right, thought it about time i gave summat back to this forum, rather than just asking questions, being a twat, selling stuff and perving on awsome cars, so heres, my story...

Started drifting after a mate bought an Mx5 and been at pembrey ever since, started in a Silver 1.6 Mx5 thats still about, albeit now white, mag featured and in its third stage of turbocharging...

Then built my first dedicated drift car, a E36 323 coupe, its still kicking about somewhere with its new owner who seems to crash it alot...

This was followed by my 328i Tourer, which i love, and has a hilarious spec, but is going to be broken for parts due to 'ahem' police isses...

So what to replace it with, well, my new daily is this... a 330 Clubsport Manual, which i fucking love driving!

So, time for a change, and i present the start for the new project and 2014 ODC season, another E46 330Ci, with the first half of the new parts already on order so ill keep this updated... at the mo shes just beign stripped and unwanted parts being sold off, including those awful fucking wheels!

lol, they probably are, but everyone and their nan has an e36 now, must have been 10 in the ODC final with me lol, decided its time for a change, and as i'm BMW specialist and i usually drift a 3, there was only one choice, plus my clubsport was epic and picked this up cheap, and is a easy 250BHP with a map...

Interested to see this project evolve.

I never considered the e46 platform to be very good at drifting. The aftermarket stuff is expensive, engines are weak and can eat your money rather quickly, especially if you abuse it properly.

Yep looking gooding Adam. Have been considering one of these for my next drift car as they seem to be dropping in price over the last few months.

What i have heard is the standard diff is a pretty shit ratio. I see you are putting 3.38 in this, What car is the 3.38 from and is it a straight fit? are the e46 diffs inter changeable like the e36s or is it a whole subframe swap? Whats the ratio of the standard diff in the 330i?

stardard ratio was around 3 mate, i forget the exact ratio, however the 3.38 from the automatic 330 is the same diff and should just bolt straight it, they also seem to be upgraded on the e46 as they are 6 bolt inputs on the prop side, the boot floors are weak as well (this ones fractured), but the automac kit ive got should sort this out, and polybushing the diff should sort out the weak bushing and movement too back there, basically ill be upgrading everything that needs to be done as i go along as eventually plan on competing properly with this one!

So can you weld in reinforcing plates into the boot at the subframe mounting points? Going to follow this and see how it comes on, you taking to pembrey anytime soon?

I am very interested in E46 builds, why did you remove the airbag tough? When you are going to chip it are you going to raise the RPM limit?
