Had fwd all my life recently got e36 325 with welded diff as my daily. Ohhhhh shit! It's scary stuff just wants to slide all day :0 very surprised not got used to the skipping wheels round every corner it does attract a fair few dodgy looks ha ha

I'm pretty surprised too, welded diffs make a car less tail happy, not more. A welder just makes it more controllable when sliding.

I loved mine in my 325 and r33 - so controllable and still stable at high speeds

Get it tracked up properly and it won't "feel like its sliding out" and driving like shit.

I have heard a lot of people say you only notice it skipping on parking. Is it just me that notices it skip badly at every round about and 98% of corners ????

Maybe your subframe or rear arm bushes are shagged and the whole rear end is flopping around like a mofo.

Or you're running really low tyre pressures.

    Or both.

It should only be noticable when cornering at low speeds, like parking speeds. as said there may be something up with your suspension that the welded diff is showing up.

Only noticed my welder skipping when I was parking or cruising McDonalds carpark picking up bitches.

    'Normal' driving it was fine.

had a welder for about 2/3 weeks now, absolutely fine, makes the car actually feel alot more stable and only goes when you kick the clutch and is so much more predictable to slide as you dont have one wheel spinning up like a tool

What could be wrong with my back end? Nearly ever corner even pretty wide ones it's like juddering back and foward? Is there any components that usually go coz the diff that causes this it's had adjustable coils on it and is sitting on it's big German ass

I already said days ago that your subframe bushes or rear arm bushes may be shagged if its that juddery anywhere but sub10mph 90deg turns.

Never had it as bad as you describe, deffo not on my old E36 shed, but the most juddery ones ive ever had was with fucked subframe bushes on cars.
