What's people running about in these days? Cheap, reliable and pleasant on the eye.. Suggestions & pics!? I'm looking for something under a grand.. Something pap with decent wheels & lowered ect!
I did have a saab 900se, cost me £400 with a years MOT, 2L turbo pulled like a train and was super comfy! Most people think they are ugly but I quite liked it, and sold it for twice what I paid so I was happy
Saab's have been damn good value for money for a long time What do you need from your daily tho, if you're doing alot of miles you probs don't wanna be spending mega bucks on fuel.
I can't go anywhere without drifting, so have a 1999 Mk2 MX5 1.8iS as a daily. Totally standard so reliable and easy to live with, but comes with a proper diff, nardi wheel, decent handling, enough lock, 140bhp, etc etc as standard, so it's happy to skid 3rd when I want it to. And it cost me 670quid.
Been looking at saabs but there just a bit of a big numb car for me haha, like the idea of an mx5 stav, last one i owned however put me off for life! 1.6, nothing but hassle, hated everything about it apart from the looks! Mileage isn't too bad as I'm lucky enough to live 5 miles from work, but tempted by a cheap golf tdi estate or something along those lines.. least theres then room to chuck engines and wheels in!
it depends i dont currently have a drift car hopefully gonna change taht i got a 2000 reg vw polo its totally stock as im only 17 so insurance is crippling even on that type of car but its very nice and i quite liek driving about in it
Diesel, german, more boot for loot Skoda Octavia 1.9 TDI Classic 5dr Diesel Estate An example, extra points for having over 300k on the clock hah
Starlet gt turbo. Had mine for 6 years, surprises a few people around town aswell. Never fails to put a smile on my face
I bought a MX5 to use as a daily, as I'm still busy building my S13. It's fun to drive and easy to get sideways, but my eBay TA Technix coilovers are a bit too stiff and bouncy and you can't move anything big in it.
I daily a transit connect. paid £1k for it and its awesome fuel cost is spot on not deathly slow boot space is substantial
Well... I bought one! I got a 1.9 gt tdi vw vento! So far done 220 miles and used half a tank of fuel.. Ideal! Pretty nippy too! So I'm after 9" wide 16's or 17's And it's getting slammed on coils.. Vr6 spitter is in the post from eGay! pics to follow! Needs new doors as these are rusty as foooo, so looking for a mk3 golf breaking to steal them from & also a black interior! Job done!
Nice! Had a mk3 estate tdi and it was brilliant, watch the ebay vr splitters as they are extremely brittle compared to vw ones
