    my navan s14 (pic heavy)

    hey everyone,

As i always wanted to have an long-term project i got an s14 from my local nissan dealer. So back in 2013 i purchased the car, and startet working on it. It first didn't look like much rust and it had some issues with the engine too.

So after a quick drive home, i started immediately stripping the whole car.

Looking for rust, i hadn't much to wait.

To easy work on the car, i flipped the car over and put it on stands :)

    What a mess...

    Just hangin.

    Welding Season started :)

Got rid of that rust mess, and stitched everything up with loads of sheet metal again.

My messy primer job (of course they hadn't enough in one color! :D )

But after black paint, nobody will notice
    [IMG]

After Welding, flipped the car over again with the help of a lot of friends
    [IMG]

Galvanised all bolts and little pieces
    [IMG]

    Sandblasted & Powercoated bigger Parts
    [IMG]

    Testfitted radiators & intercooler
    [IMG]

    Testfitted the 6 Point Rollcage
    [IMG]

Sanded the filler back to the bare metal
    [IMG]

Bare metal sidepannels on both sides
    [IMG]

    And finally testfitting all parts
    [IMG]

now im prepping the car to get painted and hopefully getting back on the road soon :)

Is there some dints or something there where the filler was? It doesn't look bad after you got rid of it all! Im keeping a look at this build. Either you going in the right direction or your just suiting my style either way keep it up :D

thanks everyone  appreciate the kind words :)

I started lately to work on the gauge panel. At first i wanted to fit three 52mm gauges, but as i progressed, i though i should go for 60mm

Started off with removing the vents, cutting the middlebar and trimming some acryl/plexi glass to fit in the hole.

Gluing the newly made backpanel in
    [IMG]

going a bit wild with fibre glass mats :D
    [IMG]

after a bit sanding and forming
    [IMG]

It needs still a bit of work, but in the end i hope everything will fit nicely :)

Yes its dented a bit, the side was welded before by the pre owner. its not visible in the picture but the leftside rear arch is not shaped perfectly. looks like a small crash or something, as the front of the arch is pushed inside. but detail stuff like that is doing the paint/body workshop guy now. also the side and arches will get tinned instead of just filler. :thumb:

Oh damn, long time no Update, sorry! Was a rough half year. The first Paint Shop had the car for about three months and nothing really happened. So i got the car back and did all the Paint prep stuff with a friend. The Engine i had was dead, but i found a good used one, which is already now fitted to the car.

Here's a quick walkthrough the last six months, hope you enjoy :)

Started to remove the Dents from the Rear Arch
    [IMG]

Re-Welded and Tinned the Arches, as they weren't as round
    [IMG]

Started to Put on some Primer and Filler.

For the first time in years, it finally looked much more llike a car again :)

Engine fitted to new painted Engine Bay
    [IMG]

Next up, was cleaning the dirty Seats from the Pre-Owner, don't know what he was dooing in the car, but was it was pretty greasy and dirty
    [IMG]

    Much better after cleanup
    [IMG]

And this was yesterday! Now waiting at the Paint Shop

hey man, sorry i don't even know the correct toolname, but i think its called spotter.
Anyway i found this link for you, i bet there are cheaper ones, i lend mine from my nissan dealer.

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/TBS-Aachen-Super-Spotter-Kit-complete/dp/B003U6K3HQ

You just spotweld those studs onto the car, using the spotter. then you can clamp the slide hammer to the studs and pull/hammer the metal out :)

    sorry for bad english :D

heres a youtube link, its a similar device, but you can weld and pull with just that one tool. instead of the "oldshool" thing i had :)

Today i've been at the Paint Shop to see whats going on with my car. Damn that guy's a legend! He sanded the whole car down to see where it wasn't flush.

Applied a nice coat of filler, looking pretty nice. Very happy with his work :)

Started prepping/modding the last Interior Parts. Modded the Speedo's clock backlight to match the rest of the orange theme. Also bought some new shiny bulbs for the cluster.

If everything works out, i'm getting the chassis back in 2-3 weeks. Can't believe after all these years i can start to put my car back together

    have a nice weekend :)
