So I thought I'd put a up a little thread about my 540. I sold my E36, bought a house..... got bored....bought myself an early 21st birthday present in the shape of this..... I did my usual trick, buy a car that's already done and then change the bits I don't like..... Quick spec M60b40 6 speed box 525 diff Full Nascar Door bar Huxley cage BC coilovers M5 ARb's Bosch 044 and swirl pot Buckets harnesses etc Plumbed in extuinguisher and all relevant cut offs and safety systems. 3" stainless system Digi Temp sensors I bought the car unseen and had it trailered to my front door, really shows you can trust people in the UK drift scene ! The car was everything I was hoping for and more...... Initial thoughts were yep that is Hannibal Lecter as a car.... and fuck does it sound goood ! Here's how it arrived after a quick wash.... Stuck an MOT on it, undersealed it, new water pump and aux belt for piece of mind. Off to Pod we went ! The day went well, really bonded with the car.... Then came Lydden Hill ! What a nightmare I managed 10laps before that brand new water pump I fitted let go :@ I spent the remainder of the day trying to repair it. Long and short I got home at 3am Sunday morning with a £300 bill from the AA I managed to dial some decent entries into Devils Elbow though considering I had 7 laps of drifting at lydden ! I know the lines are not the best but for 7drifting laps I'm happy, we are back at Lydden in a few weeks to which I will be grabbing 4th on the little manji in the bdc section. So onto another day at Pod for abit of pre Lydden testing, playing with damping settings and testing the new fuel system which I installed after Lydden, External Bosch 044 and swirl pot to stop the infamous E34 fuel surge. And that's it for now ! Here's a few pics.... Enroute to Lydden Thanks for reading, I shall try and keep the thread updated
This is cool. I've never liked E34's but this is making change my mind. Even considering looking into buying one now!
Thanks for the comments, people. Here's an external vid from Lyd.... https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=558457494254355&id=390110937755679

Good on you Jack, met you a few times now and you're sound bloke, and its nice when you meet others like minded in doing what we all love, drifting, like the chap you bought your car off. Love the car, looks and sounds awesome See you at Lydden mate
Wow thanks for all the positive comments. Aha very lalalalla of your drift car isn't excessively low/ looking decent you're losing at life. At the moment there's a stock dual mass and 540 clutch which has only done 8k still feels spot on, when the time comes I will be rocking a TTV Flywheel with a secret clutch combo. PM me for details, it has been tested for a year or so now and comes stock in another BMW Is yours an M62 though ? Will have to check it would work.
