Really good build thread! Nice E30 and a good plan to go with the Sr. Hopefully its up and running soon!
its all been very slow lately, been messing around with the other cars, waiting for the ecu to come back from having the chips and map put on it, then it can be fired up really, still a fair few odd jobs to do, major things being propshaft, exhaust but il worry about them once its running fuel lines nearly complete few outdoor pics, really would benifit from a wash!
Well its been a while, too long infact since iv touch the car, just not had time and its frustrating so I decided to ship it off Intercoolers a bit low yeah And I took it on a 60 odd mile journey up to matt at slide motorsport to get this thing finished and see me doing a few drift day before the years out!! Update of a running SR e30 soon? Hopefully!
She been gone a long time! Slide motorsport done all the hard bits, matts a top bloke, now she's back, need to wire it up, wire up gauges and fit boost controller and hopefully crank the bastard!!!.....with some serious finger crossing lol Done most just waiting on a few ebay relays and fuse boxes [emoji106]
So the bits turned up! [emoji106], we smashed some more wires together, wired up the fuel pump relay, put a new battery on and gave her some crank.....disaster! The starter was jammed, gave it a good hammering and it free'd off, phew!.....Cranked again and she gave abit of a splitter.....hopeful now! Found some air leaks, temporary blocked some of them up and she unbelievably ran like a dream [emoji13] More updates this week! Soon be road test time [emoji106]
Been along time! Cars been neglected recently in the last year to be fair but success! It's about done now, smashed some bits on this week and got him to a just about finished state, been on road test and it feels fast at 7psi! Need to set the boost controller up and get some proper boost going on
Booked a track day at mallory as a bit of a shakedown test before we give it some druggy death. Added coolant expansion tank, washer bottle in passenger footwell Also had to make some new radiator top brackets as the old one wouldn't allow me to shut the bonnet , doh! got a little bit of welding to do on the rear panel then she's going for MOT and some proper road tests [emoji4]
Not been on it for a few weeks but moved it upto the unit last night, just a bit of welded to do ready for its MOT next week. took the opportunity to take a few snaps [emoji3] Cut out the old
Just had a read through this. The SR swap looks ace, makes the down-badging even better lol properly smart E30 dude
Not sure really, they are 9j on the back, there's plenty of room on the inside so I recon 10j? Only really ever ran 9's to be honest
