    Smeatharpe Round 3

This is our 3rd event at Smeatharpe for 2015 thanks to the continuing support of Straightliners and everyone that attends our events.

DRIFT PASSENGER RIDES NOW AVAIALABLE! SEE DETAILS BELOW

Please read all the details below if you wish to enter for drifting:

    Events

    Round 1 - 21st March
    Round 2 - 9th May
    Round 3 - 10th October
    Round 4 - 14th November

    Tickets

    £10 Entry Ticket
£60 Drift Ticket (55 Drift tickets available)
£30 for additional drivers, paid on the day.
£20 Passenger ride tickets (details below)

Everybody has to pay £10 for entrance to the venue and then £60 to drift. So £70 total for drifters and £40 for additional drivers.

Passenger rides are a new addition to the October event, this is the way Straightliners want to do it:

You pay £20 for unlimited runs but you have to choose 2 cars that you are allowed to ride in with. Once you have signed on you will receive a wristband. Same rules apply for passengers (arms and legs covered, helmets, seat belt/harness, windows up). Minimum age is 16.

Payment link is on the Straightliners website. Register to the site and follow the on screen instructions to book a ticket when they become available.

    Drift Tracks & Tuition

We have 2 tracks at Smeatharpe:

1 - Large circuit style lapped track with upto 4 cars on at one time.

2 - Beginner playpen with drift tuition available. There will be no spectators allowed at this track so even less pressure for anyone wanting to learn. Learn basic techniques like doughnuts, figures of eights and transitioning in a safe environment.

If you are thinking of starting drifting have a quick read through these threads for some basic advice:

    Scruitneering:

I went to this and have booked for the 14th next month as well.

The queue in the morning for signing on is pretty insane, definitely needs re thinking, drivers were still waiting by 10:30 and passengers were just being turned away until later on in the day.

Otherwise a good day out, you have to be quick/keen changing tyres though. Think I managed 7 runs in a whole day and that was getting straight back in the queue non stop. I imagine if you got there early enough to be at front of sign on queue you might mange 8-10 runs if you're lucky.

Overall though, a good day, lots of cool drag cars, cool drift cars and friendly staff.
