Hi all, hope you've had a sterling weekend. I'm on the hunt for a welder I've got a budget of £180 max. I've been told to stay away from the gasless ones. Il be using it for standard car stuff. Any help would be much appreciated.

Personally for £180 I'd be looking at a second hand single phase 160A Sealer SuperMig. I can't fault mine.

Or go for an old trusty old model. Lincoln are usually pretty sh1t hot.

To be honest have alook in eBay, I picked up a has/gasless one with everything to run gas bar a bottle for something like 160 it's a company called Wolf I think. But don't let the unknown company names out you off, alot of them are just rebranded decent welders with different cases. Mine does everything I need it to do from a car restoration point of view :)

Wolf make (or used to make) all the air compressors and welding gear Aldi sold in their special events.
The compressors were pretty damn good to be honest.
