Went with the b235r in the end! the manifold design just changes, the ones i have is an equal length cast one, and is suitable for the td04 or any uprated model. as its cast and oem, it wont crack and will happily do the job unline some other ebay stainless items!

is it the same as the saab 9000 manifold? i though the b2x5 series wasnt very reliable after 300hp? what was the reason behind for going with the b235r?

No its different, areo only i believe. No its super reliable. same block as the 2.0L but just different crank and pistions ect. More torque and power to be had, only reason people use the 204 is the rev better, but we have removed the balancer shafts and fitted a lot of parts to make it rev super fast!

SO we are finally finished (well there's always going to be little bits to do!)

Its running 5 psi for the moment while its run in, but its scary already! Power steering done, 3" exhaust done, got some slimline fans to attach soon as well. As requested, pics and vids! (the cam cover needs polishing and some of the wires arent tidyed up yet apologies!)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPByRBgrCus&feature=youtu.be - it wasnt cold, just taskes a while for water to burn off! ;)

we are hoping for around the 300 whp mark. its running 5 psi atm and having pulled aganist and dyno'd turbo mx5 at 230 whp it was faster, so more boost and a map should see for a nice figure!

Have any upcoming drift days booked? Bet this goes like shit off a shovel. Also is the b235r different from the b235e and b235L in terms of internals or are they all the same with minor changes like ecu, tpc, low boost and high boost? Cheers:thumbs:

Been out and about, down in maidstone the other day, all going sweet so far! running a touch more boost (10 psi) with 25 psi in the rears and it squats hard. buckets of power, will spin the wheels in third easy

Time for a bit of a thread update as much has happened.

    [IMG]6tag_160416-132536 by gpizzle__, on Flickr

Been driving the car on the road for the last few weeks, everythign going really well, making about 270 whp at 14 psi. The prop that was made as a job on the cheap just temporary finally gave up the ghost pulling hard down the motorway

New prop made with extra thick tubing so will easily handle whatever we throw at it. When the old prop snapped we decided it would be a good idea to do check everything over so removed the whole drivetrain to check everything. Installed the upgraded diff which is only 1000 miles old, checked the clutch over to make sure it was working properly and the engine to ensure everything was working fine with the dry sump.

Found the diff has cracked one of its welds, so took the chance to fit a better ratio (4.1) diff, get it full with weld with 4mm plate for a little extra strength, and also added some 4mm plate to each side of the diff to make sure it doesnt crack like many others that have had the issue. I dont think it'll be cracking in a hurry!

Sorted out the horns and some paint to tidy it up, looks ready for battle now!
