I've got a bit of an intermittent misfire on my aristo after cleaning up under the bonnet and having all the coil packs out.
All of my coil plugs are brittle and have fallen apart so I was wondering if there was an option for converting to coil on plug while still retaining the standard ecu and having a working tachometer?
I've found the mojo performance kit but that's $550 once shipped over from the states and I would still need a dakota box to get the rev counter to work.
I have an hks f-con and plug in harness that I was thinking of using as a piggyback for a single turbo swap but it doesn't have a map sensor. Could I get rid of the maf sensor and use the standard map sensor already fitted on my engine?

You can get brand new clips from either Toyota, eBay or if you're smart, find a couple of Renault Megane 1.6's at the scrappies, exactly the same plugs and because they're not trapped under the coil cover they're not brittle.

I've got one brand new one so I only need two more.

Ive definitely got more in my unit if you want a couple. I think its the Mk2 Megane...
Re the coil thing, its already coil on plug (sort of) but its a wasted spark set up, thats why theres only 3 clips, don't know how that affects the ECU choice, but I know the VVTI does limit it quite a lot. Unless you get a ValCon or similar

*Edit* it definitely is the Mk2, Ive got a Megane 225 track car and its the same.

That would be really handy and save me a lot of bother.
If you could have a look for them I'll definitely have them.
I was just planning on removing the maf sensor and using the f-con to control fuelling and ignition as a really basic piggyback

No worries' Ill look tomorrow night after work.
Is it an Fcon pro? They use MAP sensors so that would delete the MAF

    It's only a silver one.
Missing the faceplate so I'm not sure exactly what model it is.
