How to get drift car to track?

    Hello guys, I want to buy car and learn how to drift, but problem is I can't get any cheap insurance quote all of them are £6k plus.:(

    Getting quotes from comparethemarket

    I only want to use it for track days, getting insurance would be a lot easier to get it there.

    your age is the problem, you will struggle to get 'cheap' quotes for the cars you have listed

    Also compare the market is useless in your situation. Anything rwd especially with any mods is going to be expensive in your situation, but if you need insurance then you need to try specialist brokers, so give green light, flux etc (plenty of threads on insurance on here) a call. I'd say mx5 would probably be the cheapest out of them cars

    buy the car.. get laid up insurance or race car insurance and get it then to tracks on a truck. A. it will cost you less and B. when you break it you can still get it home

    Yeah but the cost of getting it to track is going to be more than you saved on insurance pretty quickly.

    You do £6k in transport in a year? I go all over and pay nowhere near that

    As an 18 year old that cant tow yourself because its off your license and you dont have a tow car...yeah I could see it happening.

    Also remember you now have to factor in the costs of buying and insuring a daily as well, the insurance on that is probably going to be £2k to £3k...

    Cheapest way is to drift your daily and have something cheap like an mx5, volvo, omega that kind of thing.

    Just go with any of the telematics companies, they do cheap insurance ;)

    Yeah just drift your daily bro. Id go mx5 because they are reliable so you know more than likley your gunna be able to drive home from the track after and also because they are brilliant to learn to drift in. Ovlov are starting to go up in price and are sooooo underpowered you will want to start messing with it and possibly loose reliability. If you get an mx5 make sure its uk not inport for cheaper i surance but make sure its pre 92 because after 92 they restricted the uk models from 115 to 95hp!!!!!!
