HSD Rust

    Hey,

    I bought my HSDs in April 2016, and the front threads are extremely rusted (photos to come).

    Im guessing the warranty is only on moving parts?

    Would you recommend removal, and soaking in Deox c before regreasing and reassembly?

    Why didn't you grease the threads up before you fitted them?

    I did.

    Coated with copper grease and only had one ride height adjustment during the time.

    Reading up i should have used a white lithium grease?
    Maybe thats where i went wrong.

    Just saw it's an OLD thread but hey, still useful :D

    It's just going to be surface rust, if you're worried, take them off, clean them up using a product or two from Bilt Hamber (Deox Gel) - then coat them in a spray wax like the stuff from toolstation, or get something specific that'll prevent rusting again.
    Once again, Bilt Hamber might sell something or Frost.co.uk are worth calling to ask.
