Just a quick intro, will update properly when i get time.. But i am long in the tooth, miserable and cranky haha! I have been Drifting AE86s since 2001 & still going, for reasons i can't fathom.. {} Car has Toda 20v 4AGE, Straight Cut Type9 box, Tomei Ti Exhaust, TRD Dampers and SWIFT Springs, Custom LCA, Heyman Knuckle, Cusco Links and Roll bars, Volk Racing TE37s, Goodline bumper and bonnet blah blah. My style of drifting is old school and the car is built to reflect, what is to me, pure drifting. Always perfering to use weight transfer and clutch work to initiate the drift, the car also has quite alot of grip and is no slouch in the corners! Also. It's quite loud. Lol Will put more pictures up when i get time. Hope you like. {} {} {} Cheers Paz
Fanks chaps! So this one is like my 4th or 5th AE86, i'm not sure anymore.. I will always miss my 4AG Trueno that powered me through all of my competition years, but this one is just as special to me.. So some pics from the time i got it 4 or so years back. Picked it up and it was Panda Red over Black.. Not my style.. So first job (aside from making the wiring safe, and stopping the fuel leaking out of the carbs lol) was to paint it! My man Iain RetroSpeedShop hit it with New Formula Red: {} Drifted it a bit... {} Did a full engine bay restoration & Stich weld, custom colour... {} {} Built a 20v filled with Toda on FCR 41's... {} Fitted some brand new RS Watanabe 14x9.. {} {} Went Drifting.... {} Upgraded things as i went... {} Went Drifting... {} Went to Ireland with my boys... {} Switched to R15... {} Added flat floor and Fuel Cell to rear of car (spanked it at Matsuri!) {} {} Bought some sexy pants R15 Work Meisters in custom colour from DW! {} More Drifting... {} At this point i felt the cars performance suffering.. It was getting heavier, had a bigger cage, 6 Speed Transmission, bigger wheels and it wasn't driving in the way i wanted it to. So the next step was all out war, the most thorough diet.. So a strip down and any un-needed tat got thrown, and parts changed for maximum reduction.. More to come!
holy crap, I remember reading about your blue ae86 in the first issue of JTuner magazine years ago. I remember thinking it was nice to see such a car in print. glad to see your still at it.
Thanks for the kind words chaps! So the next step for the car was all out war on weight.. So as seen above a set of Volk Racing TE37 came in, & Bronze Tint Polycarb Windows were added.. Bit of Matsuri was done... {} Tomei Expreme Ti Exhaust System was fitted (Under 4kg!!!) {} Every un-used bracket was removed, tunnels mods to go from 6 Speed Altezza to Type 9 Quaife Straight Cut.. {} Doors Gutted, Interior Painted in custom colour... {} Rollcage re-furbished & extra bars added... {} 5.3 Crownwheel & Pinion added to match the Type 9 ratios (on paper lol)... {} Diff Cooler & Temp Gauge added, Cross Member for Type 9 Made, along with a Single Piece Propshaft... {} And the car is now ready for this year, we dug it out of the garage this week and it'll be coming home this weekend. First outing is Rockingham on the 29th!!! @neil a walker i dont have any close up pics of the fuel setup, sorry dude..
