So we turned a volvo 940 station into a drift car within 24 hours {} when we bought it: {} when we bought it We had a really cool idea and that is to turn it into a drift car within 24 hours and then drift it until one of us crashed it. However, it turned out that getting 7 guys together on one day to build the car was harder than expected. So literally half a year later we finally going to start! This weekend we are going to start. Unfortunatly we already spent almost the full budget on the car and some small stuff so we hardly have any cash left for the project. How could this possibly go wrong? Anyways Stay tuned as we are going to start on friday and we will stop on saturday. Ill be sure to post some progress on the car as we progress so stay tuned for that BTW it's a low boost 2.3 liter so if any volvo guys have some tips to do some zero budget stuff to it then feel free to post it haha
Space the actuator with washers for extra boost - keep adding until you hit fuel cut then remove one.
Clean the pcv system, the black box under the inlet needs to be clear of obstruction or it'll likely push oil from all seals. If it's a healthy car it shouldn't need much other than the usual timing belt, water pump, stat, plugs, leads, dizzy cap and rotor. Then get a manual boost controller and turn it up you'll not get much before fuel cut but a noticeable improvement. If you up the boost you need to help it breath better so remove the cat or go full 3" if possible. If you bought chips to put in the ecu's you could run more boost but the standard 13c is a heat pump above 13psi.
{} well its 15.42 right now and we havent started because the guy that drove it last didnt fill up the tank. {} we are off to a great start lol !
we currently are currently livestreaming for those who want to watch! https://www.facebook.com/themidnightgarage/ @BreadBin and @Okoye we have a manual boost controller. not great but it should do the job, otherwise we would definitly do that! @Andy318ti Didn't think of that, good call!
video is done (kinda long so just warning you if you dont like long vids. the volvo is done around the 20 minute mark somewhere) more pictures are still to come but we are having too much fun driving it right now so those will come later haha
