After some soul searching I've decided to scrap this project. I can't invest enough time in it so I think it's better if someone else gets a run at building a proper V8 motor.

First things first, I have no time for silly offers. I know exactly how much time and money I've invested in this! It'll be worth every penny of it once complete.

CP Pistons and Eagle Rods with over clearance ACL Race Big End Bearings - £1000
The pistons are -1 cc domed for an 88.5mm bore. To put this into context, with the engine I have built with the head work and custom gaskets this gives a CR of ~11.4:1. With stock HG and stock heads you're looking around 11.0:1. With a 1.6mm metal HG and stock heads you're looking at 10.9:1. The rings have been gapped to a relatively small clearance as it was for an NA. However, if you were to boost this and run it on LPG (112 octane) or use water injection you could increase the gap and run lots of boost with no issues.
The Eagle rods are rated to ~800hp but the forgings aren't the issue - they will take a lot more than this but you'll want to upgrade to ARP 2000 bolts.

These are fitted into the block along with a fully balanced crank but can be removed. Price for complete assembly further down.

    Custom 1.0mm Cometic head gaskets 92.5mm bore - £150

Standard gaskets are 89 x 1.3mm, these gaskets reduce clearance by 1.4cc.

    Kelford 207-E cams and springs: 286 duration, 9.65mm lift - £1250

These are getting towards the serious end of Kelfords NA cam offerings. They have a lot of overlap, a lot of duration and really need the CR and head work to get the best out of them. If the heads are good the engine will rev up to 8000 rpm and still make power! They have been out of the box for measuring clearances in the heads but re-oiled and placed back in storage.

    Ported heads - £500

I've done a reasonable amount of work on these. Any sharp edges have been smoothed over, they have been skimmed to within an inch of their life for CR, valve seats re-cut and the chambers tidied up slightly. Skim and 3 angle valve cut done by Chesman Engineering in Coventry. The exhaust ports have been highly polished to help with heat transfer and soot pickup. Some work is needed on the lifter arrangement - the standard lifters and shims are too thick. I was going to buy some 3SGTE retainers from Toyota with 5.06mm 1NZFE 1-piece lifters and use a shim-under arrangement which will get the clearances down, take some weight out of the valvetrain and eliminate the potential for spitting shims at high RPM.

1UZ +1.0mm block, decked, with ACL main bearings and rebuilt oil pump - £500

Machine work carried out by Chesman Engineering in Coventry. Block is +1.0mm and skimmed flat. Mains were furnished with ACL race bearings and Mahle Thrust washers. Oil pump rebuilt with genuine Toyota parts (see pic above of head gaskets) and slightly shimmed to help with oil pressure at high RPM. Will come with crank too which has been lapped.

Brand new Timing Drive and Water Pump - £100

Includes tensioner, belt, pulley and water pump. Water pump has been fitted to block but everything is boxed.

Alternator tensioner bracket and short belt (no PAS, no AC) - £40

This replaces the fixed mount alternator with a sliding tensioner to run a single small belt to remove the rest of the FEAD.

    W58 Gearbox conversion for S-body - £800

Includes Dave Mac modified propshaft, W58 gearbox with modified bellhousing and shifter assembly, Thor racing gearbox mount, competition clutch and custom flywheel and ARP flywheel bolts from a 4AGE to bolt it all together.

    Options:

Block + CP Pistons and Eagle Rods - £1400 Save £100. This will cost you almost double this to put together yourself (Pistons ~1100, Rods ~500, Machine work and balancing ~800)
Full head and block with rotating assembly and HGs - £1900 Save £150.
Heads, Cams, Block, Rotating assembly, HGs - £3000 This is pretty much half price versus doing everything yourself!
Heads, Cams, Block, Rotating assembly, HGs, Timing gear, Alternator bracket and W58 gearbox conversion for an S body - £4000

Items located in Coventry. Happy to post things like Cams, Timing kit, alternator kit. Everything else is collection only.

The bottom end is assembled at the moment but if there is enough interest to split it, then I will try and find the time to do so.

I realise there are some big numbers here, but the options are endless! Do not be put off by the high CR for boost, it is a great excuse to run water injection or run it on LPG/E85 and boost the life out of it for 800hp.

    Bump.

I can't offer the bottom end in separate parts, mainly due to a lack of time to strip the engine again and secondly because the more I think about the machining work that has gone into the crank to balance everything the more silly it seems to split everything separately.

So to reiterate prices for groups of parts:

Block + CP Pistons and Eagle Rods - £1400 Save £100. This will cost you almost double this to put together yourself (Pistons ~1100, Rods ~500, Machine work and balancing ~800)
Full head and block with rotating assembly and HGs - £1900
Heads, Cams, Block, Rotating assembly, HGs - £3000
This is pretty much half price versus doing everything yourself!
Heads, Cams, Block, Rotating assembly, HGs, Timing gear, Alternator bracket and W58 gearbox conversion for an S body - £4000
