As the title says, I need a bit of advice on stripping back the paint on the shell of my R32. Its been sat in storage for years, there is no rust in the arches or the sills but there are small patches of light surface rust beginning under it. So is it better to 1. sand blast it or 2. I have seen an acid dipping company, or is there a better way? I want to take it right back to bare metal and do it properly so that its protected for the future. Any pros/cons to each method? I want to do all the subframes, diff casing, engine/box etc and strip back the panels although i know some are aluminium so whats the deal there?
Soda blast the shell, have the subframes and diff sand blasted. Soda blasting will take off paint and mild surface rust and leave a fresh surface. Vids on YT about it.
