It's been a long time since I've posted in here....since the old s13 (miss her with a passion). But I've decided to get back amongst the smoke,whips and skids!! So I went fishing for something that was modern, solid enough to handle the beating that was comin to it... and handle the daily! Nothing better than a new for durability in my opinion, so found a couple coupes and saloons that we good candidates n settle here {} {}
So I got it home and just drove it as I'm on a budget lol.. But first things first is sourcing a extra diff as it's my daily {}
After welding one side it was time to turn the diff to get to the other side.. .But it was so tight that I thought he'd welded suttin he shouldn't ave.. But a bit off brute force and we got it spinning... heard a thew say it's normal that is tight.. But a couple say there's sound freely... so a lil confused...
Looks like there was a bit of spatter on the ring gear; same thing happened to my diff and it made it hard to turn. Probably best to chip as much as you can off and clean it out while its open
Yeah I'm gonna put it in a vice today and spin it to check every tooth n groove... nice one bro.. first time I ain't sent it to a shop to be done so you can understand my panic
