Woke up at 4 this morning and couldn't go back to sleep. What better thing to do before work than put in more work on the car. One week away from my first event in it.

Got my firewall block off panel installed and my coolant jug in.

Also, the best part of the morning. Got my seat installed, shifter surround painted to match my dash and installed, and got my gauges in and wired.

Managed to get a lot accomplished in a couple hours.

Worked on the car late last night and started on it at 4:30 this morning. 5 days till the first event.

Also had one of my friends modify my clutch line to convert to AN.

Bought the material to make my side molding.

Engine is now completely together and mostly wired up.

The engine "fits" in the car.

    Update on interior.

Nice work! everything seems to fit pretty well except for the hood.. you may have to look if a d-max vented hood would fit considering they look pretty sick imo

i'm using homemade mounts with angle iron, square stock, and hockey pucks. The sump is a Canton road race pan. It allows me to hold more oil and has multiple baffles to reduce oil starvation.

Made some last minute prep for the event over the weekend. Had to pull my trans to shim the throwout bearing, replace the water pump, finish some wiring, make a battery tie down, do an alignment, and then take it to a friends to get my exhaust done.

took a maiden voyage to the gas station before loading on the trailer to head to the event.

The event was great even though I had issues all day with the car. The rear trailing arm bushings are garbage and allow the rear to float around. My idle wouldn't clear up, and the car kept dying when I put the clutch in. Sunday night on my last run, while sitting on grid, my oil pressure dropped to zero and I shut it off. Put the car on the trailer and finished the weekend hanging out with friends and spectating. Had a great first event in the car even with the issues.

Also came home to the rest of the stuff to paint the car.

I seem to have developed a rod knock or something. so I'll have to figure that out along with redo the throttle cable, fix the rear suspension, and some other small things. So greatfull that it's gotten to this point.

Forgot to post this picture from the event. I managed to find quite literally the only puddle on the track.

    cQmUZMP.

After further inspection, I for sure have a rod knocking. Instead of pulling and rebuilding, I'm going to go grab a stock engine out of the junkyard this weekend so I can get some seat time sooner than later. Also started doing some vinyl. I love yellow.

not sure if you're grabbing a stock 302 engine, or a stock M4X or M5X. but this thing is totally wicked, can't wait to see more progress

Went by one of the local junk yards and picked up a engine out of a f150. should be good enough till I build my other engine. Gotta get some seat time.

Also had a friend drop his car off at my shop this weekend while I was out of town. Guess I get to work on another v8 swap. Luckily I'm mainly doing the prep work and suspension work on it. He gets to do the engine and wiring.
Hopefully I can talk him into changing his tail lights.
