I have an unmodified V reg S14. I want to fit wider wheels but without modification to the wings. I’m thinking of 8 inch rims 17 inch diameter 35mm offset fitted with 235/45 tyres. Pleased to hear from anyone who can advise if these will fit without fouling the body work or suspension.

You could also look on rimtuck.com it’s about easier then scrolling through that huge thread, you can select car, wheel size and tyre size and it’ll show you pics of cars with that setup and what they did or didn’t to their arches

    https://www.willtheyfit.com/ can help as well.

Shouldn't be an issue with the arches, especially given +35 offset, if anything it'd foul the suspension, but even then I don't think 8J is large enough to cause problems.

    =235&tyrecirc2=2020.986551745&wheel_width=203.2&wheeldia2=431.8&offset2=35&poke2=66.6&inset2=136.

Compared to your existing wheel, this new wheel will have an inner rim which is 14.1mm closer to the suspension strut. The outer rim will poke out 24.1mm more than before.

The strut shown in the diagram is for show only. Don't worry if the wheel looks like it fouls!
Bear in mind most tyre manufacturers vary slighty from the specs, and that it could be dangerous to run tyres on wheels they aren't designed to fit

    Thanks for the replies.

Most of the examples are larger than 8 inch and generally appear to have the arch lip rolled up if not actually stretched.

All the examples are 9 inch or larger and again the arches appear to have undergone some modification.

I have now discovered that diagram on japshop although I have already calculated the inner and outer extensions
