So we did a bit of an alignment and were ready for the grand open day at driftland. "basicly the second test of the car" After the first run of the first day we struck a problem oil leaking out the front crank seal I can only put this down to lack of lubricant on the oil seal on assemblie must have just burned threw! big thanks to my cheif mechanic we drove 3 hours back home to get the new seal and three hours back to drift land and 2 hours to change the seal we cant have done it without the removable front end So managed to get a few runs on the sunday Car went well was slowly gaining confidence last run i got it upto third and smashed the gearbox!!!!! Make things worse i broke the winch on the trailer trying to load the car at the end of the day!!!! All in all driftland grand open day was really cool and it was so worth the work getting the car ready and dealing with all the problems at the track I was out on track with jullian smith Thanks to all my friends coming along to support us had a lot of smilling pasangers upto the point of gearbox destruction!!!
Had a good look round this on the Saturday, looks awesome in person, unlucky with the issues you've had, the joys of nissan ownership lol
Thanks sir yea the joys of nissan ownership. This is the second time ive driven a silvia and with the rb engine its very special to drive the geo masters have given me megga front end grip i think i have to take a little bit of caster off the front and part worn tyres just wont do i had brand new 235's on the back and i was still struggling a bit
merry Christmas from project 307 I found the cylinder head on the rb to be defective water was mixing with the oil. the head is at RB motorsport being machined and pressure tested and while there im having a set of tomi pon cams fitted. Nothing really to report other than my new custom body work Anyone no ware I can get a custom high level bgw that will fit to the chassis rather than the boot lid of my silvia?
Updates are a bit boring really just trying to get to the back of teething problems I'm trying a 4.36 ratio diff now here are some pictures of the finished car at a photo shoot for minty fresh minty.fresh
fuck me, that's amazing now. deffo need some big injectors, that turbo is fucking massive, needs using! 1.5bar bare minimum!
turbo is to big to be honest im going to have to down size and I think the oil got so hot the last run the oil got to thin and the big end went so back to the drawing board again
Great photoshoot that! Everything is top quality, good job man!!! Get your self a basic standard mx5, basic mods (shout me if you want) come down to crail with Pete and I and we'll get you twinning in it. Trust me, when you get back into this s14 you'll be doing hero skids all day long Seriously though, thats my advice Its taught me almost everything I know. Considering Datsuns are more broken than drifted it would be a wise idea to get that practice in ya know.
looking mega as always what ratio were you using before? I went 3.7 to 4.1 and huge difference, yet to try it on track but on the road it's way better
Not much luck on the first outing that's for sure!! Love the build tho, class job. Good luck for the next outing!
defo mint mx5 is happening and we will get twining at crail - - - Updated - - - I was using 4.1 and went to a 4.37 ratio im back to a 4.1 again with a smaller turbo
So we are still here and still going with the now Pro 307 RB14.5 i now do a Youtube channel @Pro307 and am going to be doing a Vlog as well as some more indepth features {} {} Check it out to catch up with the build
