So motivation is at an all time low for the car at the moment. Im still plodding away doing little bits. I got the handbrake assembly all back together at the weekend with new parts, i also got new studs in the rear hubs because the old ones looked like they had been cut down with an axe. Ive got the throttle body on now. And the cable connected i just need to make a cable bracket to hold the throttle cable tight.

Ive been busy welding up some boost pipes and a downpipe for Ed’s s14. Its the least i can do given all the help he has given me with this shell.
    704BA044-AE85-408D-BB84-0239D866BA68.
    16CF0BE4-AA6E-4A2B-8F9E-539E8602D45A.

3.5” cold side with a hidden gtr maf holder under the pipework thats going to be used in a blow through setup.
    4E4E87A6-DFF3-4E45-8953-864E9CB4D3F9.
He cut them all i just welded them where he wanted.

Also recently did his downpipe. Again he cut i just welded it.
    6C992A0D-F1F6-4167-8DA1-910040608D85.
    7F28DF44-CD05-47C5-900D-C375DEE9CE42.

Which came out pretty ok. Not the neatest of welding but it will do and Ed was happy enough.

Also Adam who i share the unit with has been busy and is the first of the three of us to paint his car in the “team”, if you want to call it that, colour.
    67736FD7-7349-451F-BF0C-CB67D079A603. CC4F6445-3970-410D-99AF-C91CA24B5208. 28684AE3-7CF9-4D3C-8744-6E04E8C41FAA.

So there you go. Thats the colour the 32 will be going when I eventually get to that stage. What do you guys think of it?

I will be getting back into this car soon. I have loads of shitty little jobs i need to get on with and do because i need to get it to Jack at j’s garage this year. Asap for boost pipes, exhaust and mapping and actually use the fucking this. Im 3.5 years and far to many monies into this thing. Its time to drive cars not build them haha.

Colour looks sick, will be good to see the three of them out together. You're not having a livery or anything are you?

So Friday saw the return of some motivation finally, so i headed up the unit to do a progress, with every intention of getting half the shit done i intended on getting done, because, as we all know every job on these cars takes 3 times as long as you expected.

So first thing i did was get a stocky boiiiii throttle body on the car, i did recently get offered a q45 but the price made my ring piece sting and to be honest in the future once the cunt actually works i wouldnt mind going for e throttle. So for now a stock boy will do.
    6ED0D73E-298E-40FB-899D-B159F6766B21.

Then onto finishing up the handbrake. I have rebuilt the handbrake setup with all new internals and a new set of shoes. I have to say I didn’t rebuild shit, my buddy ash came down and did it because i wouldn’t even know where to begin with that drum brake setup wizardry. So i had to finish up the cables and get them all mounted up and actually operational.
    9236C589-BE33-4511-9B6C-769C6D7B9B4E.

Which i did, fuck that was 2 jobs that went smoothly af. So i was starting to panic. Onto job 3.

Mounting up calipers. This is where it started to go to shit. I looked through the box of bolts i had from when i stripped the car and have about 20 bolts to put the entirety of this car back together. I quickly realised that was an issue. A quick call to Ash and he dropped off my mate bob. Meet Bob
    14738EEE-8BB7-442A-B38A-B9E3B22B2B75.

Now bob make look like a bucket of shite. But bob is a top cunt, he is the product of breaking 3, r32’s, a 180sx and an r33. Which means he has just about every nissan bolt from the 90’s you could ever need. Which meant i quickly had the correct bolts to mount my callipers.
    337780BC-AF41-4520-980A-776ED937F084.

I plumbed them up using my GKtech lines.
    63037537-9F41-4280-93CB-613D6CDEF53A.

We were back on track. Bob saved the day. Top cunt.

Onto the next job, i finished up the gearbox mount we started making, its a ropey piece of shit. But it holds an rb25 box in an r32. I would love to say I’ll revisit it at a later date and make a new one, but I’d probably be lying to you. So i threw some paint on it and called it done.
    C22B1E46-4346-4029-AE5B-0DF648DB38A4.

Then bolted it in properly. Again thanks to bob for providing the bolts. Next up was to try the prop i bought an an rb25 to r32 prop. I wasn’t convinced it was going to be a gem. However it was the perfect.
    23E0E268-5F75-427F-989A-10924926426F.

I quickly threw the other side rear calliper on too. F7E4E4F6-F194-468D-B64F-38FDE9BF77D9.

Shieeeeeet. It was all going well, too well. The first time in a long time of working on this car where I actually enjoyed it. I was even ticking jobs off my list.
    7B5E168F-727C-4190-BEAB-3F0F2BDDBD78.

Crazy. So I decided to quit whilst i was ahead. The unit was in dire need of a tidy.
    6FC436C4-602D-4E59-98F2-6D3B7B2F6C57.

So i got on with sorting that out after id moved the cars outside. 5005BA10-942D-4603-A555-C40AD1B96D89.

Once that was somewhere near i decided to do my usual and try and make the 32 look less shit.
    C2CBF917-AF3D-4484-BB1C-CBFF450E7FBF.

    51CC6D7D-6B0C-45A2-9122-BA4021898D00.

    D4E95023-104A-407A-9C27-E958DD8B3166.

Excuse the whack alignment. Nothing is even vaguely aligned. The front will be about 10-15mm higher than that. The back needs to come
Down 15-20mm and i will be happy.

Ive also been shopping. Ive got some spare doors. And my buddy Jack is breaking his 600bhp rb s15 so ive been spending money, ive got an intercooler, intake pipe, sard fuel pressure regulator, a greddy oil cooler kit and this sick coilpack setup.
    DF5C81A4-E805-46F5-A0BE-D4314D91485B.

Billet rail, r35 gtr coil pack setup.

Annnnnnnndd the cherry on the cake is something I really didnt need but always admired in jacks car,
    049D9D5F-462C-40CD-AFBC-5A69DAC8E5A0.

A sexy defi setup, got oil pressure, oil temp, water temp and also not pictured i have a boost gauges and a control box.

Completely over the top. And way too expensive for. Gauges. But so so sexy.

Well now your all caught up. I have some motivation. I will try and keep going. Hope Im not boring you guys too much with this build thread. Thanks for reading.

So last week i snapped, ive been looking for a new daily for a few months, after going to see the 9th Mercedes and it being a dog, i snapped. Sick of dealing with dishonest cunts. So i swung my old man a decent offer for his old pd130 passat he had for sale, and decided all the money i was going to plough into a daily was going into the skyline.

So jack popped over to drop off my big box of bits i bought from him.
    9D741402-8652-494A-86CF-2E248D56F0BC.
I had a good chat with him and look around my car. We came to an agreement. I am going to get the loom, interior in, brakes finished, screen fitted and get the car to him and he is going to finish it and hopefully i should get it back running and driving in October.

So now i have a deadline. The car needs to be with him by the end of August, so time to crack on. My buddy Ash who i bought the car from originally was keen to push on and help me out. I think i will be calling in a couple of favours to get it done. However i am fully motivated to make it.

First thing i needed to do was fix the plastic box that held the aircon unit in the heater box. I threw it across the workshop like a bellend and broke it.
    F08BAA90-4190-40A3-896F-E8682BE6E82D.
So i broke the soldering iron out and a small cable tie and plastic tigged it back together haha. Not pretty but effective.

Then it was time to get some looms back in the car.
    C6721B59-CC73-4DB0-AC1F-DE6EBA798B17.
What a world of misery. I am so shit at electrics too it may as well be witchcraft.
    B77623AB-EB11-48A3-808D-52A77C94F0D2.

Didnt take many photos, you know what loom in a car looks like.

The i needed to make a hole into the bay to get the fusebox back into the bay. So i got handy with a grinder and got that done. Lined it so the loom isnt sat on bare metal.
    F1030A8A-0C01-4927-B497-7F8650E732B3.

Got the loom in and tucked up above the arch, also got a battery cable in to move the battery to the boot.
    97A1BC2B-73E4-4AAD-B411-1939D2911930.

Tucked up nice and high. Hopefully high enough. Then i had to mount the fusebox in the bay, i tried to make it as tidy as possible but thats tricky with all the stock loom trying to fit in a hole half the size it used to be.
    D897257C-40F5-4AAE-AE98-BB76DCCDE770.
    Not perfect but good enough.

Then onto the next job, getting the greddy oil cooler kit fitted up. With the defi senders all
    Plumbed in.
    2A8786B8-B83E-481E-8BF8-E3C5B1952EC9.

I also mocked up the FPR and figured out what fittings were needed and got them ordered to finish plumbing up the fuel system.

Then onto the next job, getting the carpet in the car. A little tricky with the new seat rail welded in on the drivers side and the added cage boxes.
    3DCB75F4-FEF6-4A0B-A04A-ED203C5112C7.

Not perfect, still needs a bit of trimming here and there to fit and a few interior panels to hold it in place. Also on a side note. This carpet has been out of the car about 2 years. As i was putting it in the car I realised it still has that skyline smell, if you’ve ever gotten into an r32 you’ll know what i mean.

I cant believe the difference to how complete the car looks just for having a loom and some carpet in it. And the bay is starting to come together.
    32F1E602-0BA1-4E27-9040-2608B2523486.

So i have been spending a pound or 2 lately. I have on the way, brake fluid, diff oil, gearbox oil and engine oil on the way thanks to Driven racing oils. I also have coolant on the way, pair of driftworks front upper camber arms, air filter, spark plugs, gauge holders for the defis, tek screws, an fittings for the fpr, aem wideband, a new boot for the gearstick, a few eyebolts and some brake pipe clips.

So next week its going to be like christmas as all these parts turn up, i am trying to button up lots of little jobs and finalise them. So hopefully you will see a good bit of progress untill it goes to J’s Garage for all the finish work.

    Cheers for reading.

Nice work bud, glad to see the motivation is returning. Its weird how you seem to lose it the closer you get to the finishing, had the same on my 1J and 1UZ swaps. Cant wait to see it come together, hopefully no more road blocks for you

So this week saw me looking for some more wheels. Mainly because i wanted to have some fronts i could just chuck on and relip the smaller ssr’s in the future when i had more time.

Then i was offered some wheels I’ve admired for a long time And tried to buy a few times too. So jumped at them.
    406F46E4-C21D-4385-A9CB-2C85271343F9.

Ssr viennas in factory sized 18x10.5 et5. Porn. I know they arent to everyones taste but they very much are to mine.

So once i had confirmed i was picking them up whilst i was at BDC this weekend i was pretty excited. I got even more excited as christmas came early in my house and box after box started turning up.
    34D33724-D789-4B4B-822C-CF50BA0BA97B.

That was just some of it. So i popped down the unit on friday before i left for BDC and finished up a few little bits.

I got the fuel filter in, fpr fitted up and the last couple of lines buttoned up for the fuel system. So thats now all done. Not perfect, but not awful.
    016444CC-7235-4E73-AEDB-B65CC77C26BC.

Then i got the Rad in, intake pipe in, new air filter on, and the billet rail r35 coil pack conversion on, bar the loom which jack forgot to bring over with him.
    E877AE02-008C-4073-94FE-4F17FDACF81F.

The bay is really starting to look the part. Even if i do say so myself.

Then i pissed off to Work at BDC for the weekend. The weather was shite. However one man brightened my day and was a pleasure to watch. Mr Charlie Hulme. Take a bow.
    B9AB4C76-A8ED-43E4-8489-BC3FF5A7C66D.

What a hero. Peddled like a champ.

Also whilst at BDC i picked up a new clutch line. As the one i have doesnt work for me, and an ecu case to put my link in finally.

I came home from bdc and had to pop up to the unit and see if i could make these ssr’s work the way i had wanted. Now they are a very flat design where the wheel mounts to the hub so brake clearance is going to be an issue i think.
    97ADEA6F-DBC9-4CB2-9146-5C539DBF9528.

However with that said. This is what i want to do with them.

    CA8CE0EA-4ACA-46AF-9093-2F5ED7257589.

There is going to be a hell of a lot of work to make them fit. I need to go down when i have more time and see if its even possible. But if it is. Im doing it. The car currently has no front calipers on it. Hence why they fit. I need to go down when i have more time to fuck around and see if i can make it happen.

Anyway thats a small update. Im on holiday next weekend. So progress will resume the week after. Thanks for reading.

So i am on a deadline and doing loads of bollocky shitty jobs that do not photograph well. I’ve been away and done an engage. Kept the Mrs happy so that means i can fuck off and do car for a bit.

Went down the unit and did some shitty little bits. Got the hard lines “finished” please no one ever look at them, they are awful, i will go back and remake them (i wont). They are not the neatest. So I refuse to photograph them haha.

Then i sorted some more little bits. Got the front lines plumbed up. Gk tech shit done a fit. So the brakes are ready for a bleed.
    1C0F3F41-D19E-4D5E-B1C5-1740429B4AD0.

I also went through the front suspension and did everything up. Shortened up tension arms as much as possible. Did up all the ball joints and put split pins through everything.

I also fitted up the new hel braided clutch line. So its nearly ready for a bleed.

I also fitted up some driftworks extended rack gaitors.
    0AA0E9E2-8460-417E-8AEE-F60EA91F7460.

They did things. I do have some front camber arms to fit. But frankly at the moment in time they can wait. I need to get it vaguely driveable. Ill do them when it gets back.

I also did some working out if i could get the viennas on the front. I absolutely can not. Unfortunately. Sad days.

I chucked the steel bonnet on the car also because it already has aero catches cut into the bonnet. Its quicker and easier at the moment. I will put the dmax bonnet on later. The car is going to look like arse when its first on the road. But oh well. I will rip a fat burny and all will be ok.
    F733F0C1-1B51-4655-9BB1-EE516EB604FF.
Excuse my poor front fitments. Its not acceptable but it will have to do for now. Strangely i really like the stock bonnet looks.

All going to plan. Should be doing a bleed of both brakes and clutch on Friday. So some shit may be vaguely done soon.

Also got Ed coming to give me a hand doing a dash chop on Saturday so that should see the interior start to go back in the car soon. Once the dash is cut i will get someone in to fit my screen. Yes its cracked. Yes its getting fitted, no i cant afford a new one.

A little bit of progress. Shits being done, life is long, so many stupid fucking jobs to do. Its tedious but needs must. I got a mapping appointment to meet.
