hello guys, I'm Italian, I'm preparing my nissan s13, I want to do a stage 2. 260-280cv. I'm undecided, tomorrow I have to buy the rims, 17x8 tyre 205/45 17, or 18x8.5 tyre 225/40 18? i love the 18, do you feel the difference between 17 and 18? the car struggles a lot with the 18? or should I not have problems with that power?

What is you final drive / diff ratio?

The car will feel more responsive on a 205/45/17 tyre due to the smaller rolling diameter than the 225/40/18. You will definitely notice it.

However you can make those 18" tyres feel like the 17" tyres by going for a shorter diff ratio. Assuming you're running a 3.9:1, if you were to run a 4.36:1 diff ratio the 18" tyres will feel more responsive and like how the 17" tyres feel with a 3.9:1 diff ratio.

I don't know what relationship I have, can I check, if I block the differential 100%?

    Block it????

You can either remove the diff from the car and take off the rear cover and look on the crown wheel for the numbered ratio (list of number markings are here: http://www.eatsleepboost.lt/tech-info/nissan-tech-info/nissan-r200-diff-ratios/)

Or you can raise the car off the ground, go under the car near the front of the diff, mark a bolt on the driveshaft input flange on the diff and count how many times the driveshaft spins around completely while another person spins the wheel 360 degrees.

If the driveshaft rotates about 3 and a half times a 3.692 ratio
If the driveshaft rotates slightly less than 4 times it's a 3.916 ratio
If the driveshaft rotates slightly more than 4 times it's either a 4.083 or 4.111 ratio (negligible difference between the two)
If the driveshaft rotates about 4 and a third times it's a 4.363 ratio

Tyres will be expensive drifting on those rims, have you taken that into account?

the tires to make drift, give them to me, or, I buy them used, so they cost little, I'm interested only to know if the car with 18 "rims, strains, or I can feel comfortable with that power

    I could also mount 215 40 18

You will be able to drift on 18” wheels no problem

therefore, I buy wheels with 18x8.5j weight 10.5kg, tyre 215/40 18, more, I buy the lightened flywheel, to mask the loss of power

    280cv
    Wheels 10.5 kg + tyre 11kg

Don't worry about the lightened flywheel. Weight of the wheel at these power levels is not important

215/40/18 is a better size for the 18's too. Compare your rolling diameter using: https://www.willtheyfit.com

Your thinking too much.. Just put whatever wheels look cool on and go drive the car.
